S Antrel Rolle – There have been talks about bringing Rolle back, but it doesn’t sound like they’ve been very productive. The problem is money, of course. Rolle, according to a source, still sees himself as a top safety and, in a thin market, isn’t looking to sign anywhere at a bargain rate. He made $7 million in each of the last two seasons and may not be looking for much less than that. There are several teams that could be willing to give him a bigger offer than he’s gotten so far from the Giants. There has been a lot of talk that the Miami product could be Miami-bound. Regardless, it appears he’ll be a free agent on Tuesday.

If he wants near $7M annually I don't want him. I like him a lot, think he's still a great coverage guy but we like safeties that can play in the box and cover, and he doesn't fit that anymore. The difference between him and Delmas is minimal, they're both good leaders and if Rolle is making $6M a year and Delmas is making what he made last year I'm keeping Delmas. Just have a good contingency plan behind him, Michael Thomas and Aikens should be enough to get by behind him.

i would just bring delmas back for cheap. then draft a safety in the 3rd. Michael Thomas going down early hurt us bad later in the year. Plus Thomas will be around as the 2

for 7 million no.

get Delmas for cheap on a 1 or 2 year deal

keep Thomas

maybe draft a Safety or just keep coaching and grooming Aikens.

There is a reason that the Giants haven't re-signed Rolle for high $, his form appeared to deteriorate last season. Maybe there was a good reason and he could bounce back but the NY Giants are a pretty well run team re player retention and are not short for cash this season. Also interesting to note that Miami apparently previously pursued Rolle's services 5 years ago when he signed with the Giants from Arizona (after the Gibril Wilson disaster, Ireland drafted a 5th rounder named Reshad Jones). Antrel is now 32 years old - last contract with NY Giants was for $37M for 5 years. So he is used to being very highly compensated at around $7M a year. Rolle has the reputation of being a very high character guy originally from Homestead, FL before becoming a Hurricane. Like fearthebeard and some others above, I'd prefer to re-sign Delmas, if he's on track to be fully healthy.

I don't think the Giants have a ton of cap room and Rolle is getting older. I think the Giants do want him back, he's still a productive player.

Would be great, definitely not at 7 million per season. But he/his agent aren't stupid. FS market is thin and teams have that need (including us). He'll get some decent bank . . . maybe even his 7 million. Hopefully not from us.

The guy you seriously have to consider signing is Chris Clemons. He'll be cheap and he knows the system. No guarantees Delmas will be 100% this season and he's a walking injury anyway. Don't be surprised if CC comes home. Great depth.
