The only benefit would be A). If Huard or Croyle go down with a major injury, they would have a veteran backup to turn to. B). If a QB from another team were to go down and need a veteran to come in, it MIGHT increase their trade partners. HOWEVER, that is only if Trent Green is willing to renegotiate a new contract with that team and he has already stated that he will not re-work his contract for any team other than Miami. So unless a team is willing to spend that kind of money on him for one stop gap season, it's going to be hard for them to trade him to anyone else. There is NO WAY KC wants to pay him that kind of $$ to be an "Insurance Policy".
