Now with Fisher going to the Rams, does anyone think Pete Carmichael Jr. will get a interview from Miami? I read somewhere in the papers today, that since Carmichael has taken over play calling duties from Sean Payton, the Saints have been averaging over 500 total yards a game. I would prefer him over any candiate at this point. So what do you think guys, will he get an interview with Miami or is it to late in the process?

Carmichael is still off limits as long as the Saints are still playing

When that is said - he is probably one of the best young coaches out there. A little known fact - Pete Carmichael is the one who recomended that Brees see a specialist who helped him rework his mechanics after the Chargers drafted Rivers. Carmichael was an offensive ***. coach with Chargers at the time. Brees have been praising Carmichael left and right given him a lot of the credit for helping him develop into the QB he is.

He would be a very good candidate but I fear that several other teams might be interested as well

So until the Saints lose Miami can't interview him--correct? what happens if they dont lose and go all the way to feb? The miami would have to wait to interview him? I personally think he is worth the wait imo.

I was watching Ross' interview and he stated that they had their eye on someone that they couldn't interview yet because they are still playing. This is the first name that came to my mind.

thats not true... we can interview him during the week as long as the saints allow us to. Rams and other teams have done it to coaches that are still in th eplayoffs

If it is anything like 2009 then the Saints won't give permission while they are still playing unless they don't play that week (the week following the nfccg)

But i thought it was said the saints were going to allow the rams to interview the assistant coach. But never happen because Fisher join them.

So Miami get permission and get a interview with who u want and atleast get a agreement in place for them. So when team loses or wins it all they can start fast. I hope they pick the right guy. Good coaches left not in the playoffs too. Soooo please football gods give us din shula 2 please lol

Jr seems to fit a young coach that can be with us for years and become the coach we need but who knows. U can run a offense but is he a guy that can run a whole team

T
his is a great article.

If they do hire Carmichael, I hope they have the good sense to hire Aaron Kromer to be OC. Kromer is the genius responsible for taking all these mid and late round picks of the Saints and turning them into the best OL in the NFL. He is also responsible for the design of the Saints very good run game, which is grossly underrated because of the spotlight shining on Brees. Not to take anything aaway from Brees; he is a Wiz as well.
