Any chance Philbin & Ireland survive this?

In some ways, this hurts their case. How the heck do they not know this kind of thing is going on?

Devil's advocate. Suppose it was Richie pulling being a normal locker room hard ass around other people. Then, he's emotionally torturing Martin 1 on 1.

How would they know if Martin doesn't alert them specifically?

It's not much different than corporate harassment. Someone needs to know about it and someone needs to bring it through the proper chain of command. Otherwise, it's a secret between 2 people and no one can read minds.

Right now I would put the odds of them surviving at about 20%...

A lot of it depends on how the team performs during the rest of the season though. If they go 8-8, they are goners. I think Ireland is out regardless at this point. He has brought nothing but embarrassment to this team since Ross bought the Dolphins.
20% ?!?! The ONLY way any of them comes back is if they run the table the rest of the way. Which we all know is not going to happen.

The worst part of this is the Dolphins were blindsided by this Incognito-Martin saga. Those in charge - trust me - had no idea.
Ross guaranteed. Ireland maybe not but if Philbin didn't know then he should be fired as quickly as if he did know. A head coach has got to know everything going on in his players lives.

The Broncos head coach had to leave for a heart valve replacement. Yes, I believe Philbin and Ireland need to be canned ASAP. Sherman...maybe him too. Get Cowher or Gruden over here ASAP, you know for a fact that Cowher wouldn't put up with this crap.

Gruden would be awesome. Team needs some Discipline and Leadership stat. Philbin is not in charge.

My next question would e why didn't they know. Some are reporting that Martin has told coaches multiple times. What coaches did he tell, and if he did tell them, why were Philbin and Ireland not told?

Dave Hyde is saying Philbin really did have no idea. Wow.

Honestly, I'm not sure what's worse .... knowing and not doing enough to end it. Or being blindsided because you're detached from the pulse of the team.

If they were putting on a good public front -- Martin for whatever reason -- and Incognito was harassing him privately? I can't blame the staff for that.

But we don't know yet that's the case. Let the truth come out. All of it.

The cover up is ALWAYS worse than the actual truth.

Yesterday's official team announcements was one cover up statement after another.

If it comes out that Philbin knew, not only did he lie to us about the importance of "character," he lied to us again to cover up his lies!

Let's be honest, Philbin is no patron saint either. A longtime nobody assistant getting his first shot at an NFL coaching gig. He's not immune to being a weasel either, no matter the what he says. Because those are more likely than not, just lies.

This is not true. They are grown men. If there was an issue you go to the Coach you don't expect him to solve it for you. And he can't read minds. I've read nothing but your crap speculation all morning.

If they knew it was going on you'd like to think they would've stopped it when it began. How could they not know? If Martin didn't say anything to anyone about how he felt how would Philbin know what the story?

I find that hard to believe, but if it's true it really shows how clueless this organization is.

Philbin is known for not putting up with conduct detrimental to this team. As soon as the racial voicemails are heard, bam, suspension. Philbin will be fine. You guys are too reactionary.

There you go......

Right now I feel they both have to go at the end of the season, if they knew about this and did nothing or if they didn't know, they should of known....I just don't see how a player or position coach or someone bringing this to the attention of Philbin or Ireland....this story makes me sick....who are the captains and where were they when this thing started to spiral out of control.....

So with that logic, Bill Billicheat should have been fired over the Aaron Hernandez case???

Just playing devil's advocate here.
