Has anyone heard any updates on Parker? I know he started lightly jogging last week. If he doesnt start running on his foot this week there no way he would be ready for the opener, imo.

Not that I want him to rush it, was just curious. I know now that camp is over there is less media exposure so it wont be as easy to see how he's progressing. I think he is the real deal and will be awesome in our offense. Him and Landry could be a sick WR duo for the long term.

Call me crazy but I don't think it's possible to run on one foot. Not effectively anyway.

yeah, the Dolphins got him a PhunkeeDuck so he can play while his foot is still healing.

No need to rush, I have no problem with slowly bringing him up to speed even if it's after the start of the season

they keep saying week 1. I'd love to see him on the field during this week and play in the last preseason game

I agree. I just feel we rarely get updates on our 1st rounder. I mean I guess his status hasnt really changed, but for them to keep saying week 1 is the goal, the clock is ticking.. 3 weeks out. Maybe I am just getting too anxious/excited to see him play. lol

since WR is a strength, as they waived Preston, all things must have been considered. if they felt he would start the season on PUP, then I think they keep all WR's. right?

He is jogging at this point. That was the last update.

DeVante Parker Finally Resumes Slow Jogging
by ThePostGame 0:44 mins
First-round pick DeVante Parker (foot surgery) was observed jogging for the first time at Dolphins camp Monday. Beat writer Adam Beasley emphasizes that Parker was jogging "slowly." Parker has undergone foot surgeries in back-to-back seasons after originally fracturing the foot at Louisville last year. The fact that he is just now resuming slowly jogging may hint Parker won't be ready for the Dolphins' season opener. The team has all along maintained Parker will be ready for Week 1.

And this from Walker today.....

A quick observation of first-round pick DeVante Parker and how he has played through three weeks of training camp:We didn’t see one play from Parker in training camp this year. Therefore, there is no choice but to give the wide receiver an early thumbs down.Parker continues to rehab following June foot surgery and was officially activated from the physically unable to perform list on Aug. 19. The Dolphins will bring him along slowly with the goal of being ready for Week 1 of the regular season. The Miami Dolphins travel to play the Washington Redskins to open the regular season on Sept. 13.

The good news for Miami: it's still early. By no means does this make Parker a permanent thumbs down for his rookie season. It is more of an incomplete grade.

In fact, Parker showed plenty of flash during organized team activities in the spring before his foot became an issue. He showed good size, a wide catch radius and the ability to make difficult catches. Parker also was faster than expected and able to get behind defensive backs with his long stride. Injuries appear to be the biggest concern.

Miami has plenty of depth at wide receiver to move on without Parker for now.Jarvis Landry, Greg Jennings, Kenny Stills and Rishard Matthews have done well and are building chemistry with quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Parker is behind the rest of the group due to missed time, but he has enough talent to eventually make up ground and find a role in his rookie season.

I don't care if he's back for week 1. It's better that he fully heal than come back too early.

With our depth at WR, no need to rush him back. We'll be plenty fine with Landry, Stills, Jennings, and Matthews. Maybe even throw Hazel into the mix

First of all, Walker is a complete knucklehead. How can you say Parker gets a thumbs down when he is recovering from an injury? ESPN needs to bring back Tim Graham to cover Miami.

Next, Parker can take all the time he needs. We are loaded at WR and don't need him for week 1. Mathews and Hazel are playing well so we have plenty of depth.

Fundamentally and rationally I don't think anyone can legitimately disagree with this, however I also fundamentally have an issue with our #1 pick parked in garage with a tarp on because of the same blown tire suffered in college...

That pick has Parcellian influence all over it -- which means Tannenbaum probably pulled the trigger. Add to that the FACT we didn't take ANY small school kids as when Hickey had the show to himself. That's another classic Parcellian line of crap -- looking for kids from the big schools only.

So until proven otherwise, the pick of Parker was unwise!

BNF. Yet there's more!

I mean -- we could have used the #1 on OL or LB -- that much is for sure.
