Donald Thomas is out for atleast training camp and will not have the upper body strength to start in Week 1 as he wont be lifting all summer. He might even be put on the PUP or worse, the IR again.
Shawn Murphy blows
Alleman is hurt and blows
Our best option is Ndukwe but he is nothing to write home about

We are one guard away from having a really solid line.

So are there any FA guys to look at? Or any guys to trade for?

Pete Kendall, although 35 is an option, although he's smaller than Parcells likes. He started all 16 games for the Redskins last year.

I thought Ndukwe graded out higher than Carey and just below Long last year, Alleman and Satele were the problems.

Not saying we're not looking for an upgrade.

'any guards to trade for' sounds an awful like the thinking that went on in Redskins park around this time last year that has everyone in the NFL laughing at the Redskins now. :foundout:

Shawn Murphy is unknown....saying he blows when he was drafted only last year as a developmental prospect is premature.

Honestly, we (myself included) may be completely overreacting to this injury...all we really know about D.Thomas is he was good enough to fill a position that we were unable to otherwise competantly fill all last year. Joe Berger, who this staff knows very well, could have very well beat him out this year

JOE BERGER FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

Ike Ndukwe was a solid guy for us. I don't see the issue with starting him. It's not like we have barrels of money laying around. I mean for god sakes the Head Coach is an Offensive line coach. I am sure we will be just fine. Get over it.

Honestly, it's too late now. I don't see this FO reaching. They pants'd the Foreskins last year for doing just that. They'll go to war with the army what brung 'em.

since I had to look it up, I thought I'd post for others:

A deity is a postulated preternatural or supernatural immortal being, who may be thought of as holy, divine, or sacred, held in high regard, and respected by believers.

which led me to:

pos·tu·late (psch-lt)
tr.v. pos·tu·lat·ed, pos·tu·lat·ing, pos·tu·lates
1. To make claim for; demand.
2. To assume or assert the truth, reality, or necessity of, especially as a basis of an argument.
3. To assume as a premise or axiom; take for granted. See Synonyms at presume.

and

pre·ter·nat·u·ral (prtr-nchr-l, -nchrl)
adj.
1. Out of or being beyond the normal course of nature; differing from the natural.
2. Surpassing the normal or usual; extraordinary: "Below his preternatural affability there is some acid and steel" George F. Will.
3. Transcending the natural or material order; supernatural.

Ok...now what were we talking about???

Winner winner chicken dinner.

I'm just joshing of course, before people start flogging me for heresy. Such faith you have in Berger. Such unshakable faith. I admire such faith in an unproven player to fill in and be the man should need be. I simply don't share it.

All I can say is the interior OL and backup NT positions are the problem areas. Now the DB and WR positions along with LB were also an issue and now they are really are not. So Bill P and Co had a plan we see that plan now for those positions DB, WR and LB. You have to beleive they see the OL and NT issue and have a plan for that. So we are just going to have to wait to see it. Sporano is a OL coach and he went through a ton of OL lineman last year so he is on top of it. Lets see if that new OL coach can make some of that talent produce! As far as NT it will be interesting to watch.

June cuts.....we can wait a little bit cant we?

June 1st cuts don't mean anything this year towards the salary cap. This the last year for the CBAgreement, so teams can't spread out the salary cap next year by releasing a player after June 1st.
