Just wondering if anyone has an idea why Anthony Fasano has not been involved in the offense in the past month or longer? Over the past 4 games, Fasano has 2 catches for 24 yards. The first 4 games of the season Fasano had 14 catches for 197 yards and was establishing himself as somewhat of a force down the middle of the field. The stat sheet shows a continual progression of dwindling opportunities. Lately, this has been nonexistant and I for one think the Fins need to get back to this, especially with Camarillo out for the year. Overall, the tight end opportunities are way down.

Hopefully its a way of just setting up another team so they dont expect him to do anything. And when that game comes he will than explode. But yeah I havent seen him in a while.

Hes been used more for blocking and other roles not involving him going over the middle of the field where he excels at catching the ball and picking up yards.

It has a lot to do with the improvement at WR. Our WRs are progressing and not only that, Penny is getting more comfortable with them. Remember, Penny didnt have a full training camp here. When he was not as comfortable, he naturally went to the big TEs over the middle.

true, though i would like to see more of a balance when penny consistently throws the ball.

We have two tight ends that can both catch the ball in traffic and plow people over.

Fasano at 24 has a while before he is deemed necessary to make a legitimate presence. His youth makes him a viable option at tight end for the next 4-8 years which will also help henne when he comes in at quarterback next year or the year after

This is true and now that Smiley is out it only became more of a problem, unless this new lineman we just signed can come in and make an immeadiate impact for us. It will be intresting to see how Sporano's staff handle this new wrinkle. I dont think we will see much of Fasano catching balls for the remainder of the season. I think the duty of filling Camirillo's role is going to belong to Bess.

Penny only throws so many passes in a game, and ever since Ginn and co. have been catching more balls, fasano has been catching less and less. Theres only so many passes to go around.

I really don't like any of the reasons anyone is giving. This kid needs more catches. He is a matchup nightmare with ANY LB in the league and needs to be utilized more. This team has not scored like it did in the beginning of the season. The WR do NOT score.

Yeah, he hasnt quite developed at the rate that i was anticipating, but he's been solid. Thank god we have Martin backing him up or else the unit would be in trouble.

Because when Fasano catches 7 balls and Ginn catches 2 in the same game, Ginn will be a bust again

Seriously, it was stated. Pennington isn't the Drew Brees type to throw 60 passes in a game. And it seems as though the offense is set to spread the wealth each game. I don't know if anyone this season has had back-to-back spectacular games. Makes it hard to get back to Fasano all the time. He'll be just fine.
