The current process , as I understand, is to eliminate all candidares except 5. Then these 5 will be interviewed in depth regarding football philosophy & strategies. It has been rumored that Dan Marino and Don Shula may assist in interviewing those 5. Then it will go down to 2 candidates. More interviews perhaps and a final winner. How long might this take? Has anyone seen any kind of timetable? Just curious.

Well, they are certainly doing their due diligence. To me, that means that their is a good possibility that we won't hire a coach until after the playoffs. That is, assuming that one of the current coordinators (Cameron or Rivera) are in the mix and their teams go deep into the playoffs.

I am really concerned about the rumors about Pete Carroll...if WH misses horribly on a HC again, we may as well get ready to wait another 25 years to get to a Super Bowl!

Agree!!!

If the answer to the question is Cameron or Rivera, the question can't even be asked until the guy's team has concluded its season. It could be a while.

Whats the hurry?...........seriously, what if a guy like Dungy becomes available after the Colts lose in Baltimore?.......Far fetched, maybe but ya never know!

We wont know anytime soon, and I'm not expecting a final decision until after the season ends. Guys like Cameron / Rivera could be among our top choices, and as long as those two teams keep winning, the longer we'll have to wait....

It could be a long time....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Dungy, Marty Schott, anyone.

I assume that things will heat up as the playoffs finish and we will have an announcement before the Pro Bowl.

Then the Assistants/GM changes will occur after that.

Then FA March 1st@!

The GOOD news is that if it were a college coach, there would be a PC already announced.

Yeah, assuming we are serious about a few of these Asst's., we'll have to wait until they are out of the playoffs or until after the s-bowl perhaps. Our ability to talk to these guys already ended, so they're off limits until their teams either lose or until after the s-bowl (if they go that far). The big risk here is if we wait that long, I guarantee other teams will have made offers to other people on our list before the s-bowl happens. SO we better be pretty sure they are a serious finalist before we decide to sit and wait it out that long. Otherwise, we could be very limited in our options come February. I agree to doing this right and being sure, but don't make the mistake of waiting TOO long. Many of these guys want a shot at a H/C job and in absence of an offer at a preferred place, they'll go with the guaranteed job.

Ooooh!

I would DEFINITELY love Dungy as our HC, especially if he brought his current OC (sorry can't remember his name) @ Indy with him AND kept Capers as his DC. That would be sweet!

Good point{s}. It's a tricky situation we're in no doubt. Let's hope these guys who are making the coaching decisions have done their homework, and have all the bases covered....

I am not so sure the OC at Indy isn't named Peyton Manning....or if it requires a cereberal guy to run it. The Jets supposedly have this "QB makes all the decisions at the line" system and I am not so sure we have the QB for it.

Culpepper has been called a poor decision maker. Joey reveled in the fact that once he got here...fewer decisions...and he was average at best in that situation.

Lemon?
