Any Hope In Tyler Huntley?

Normally that matters a bit, but do we think that teams really care who is starting for Miami at this point? Teams have to think its Huntley and wont have to prep for Boyle.
While most of us are hoping Huntley it's far from a given.

Seeing him play for the Ravens made me realize how a franchise that knows what they’re doing manages to bring in a second string QB that can run the same offense that the starting QB runs. What were Grier and McD thinking when they brought in Thompson and White? Did they not realize that these two couldn’t run the type of offense that McD had installed for Tua? Sure…I realize that the QB needed to run this type of offense is rare, but there were other QBs out there who would have done a much better job than these two. Specially when you have a team that has been built to win now. And the fact that Tua has had a long history of injuries. Unreal, and sad, how the people responsible to lead out team couldn’t figure this out.
There really wasn't a closer profile for Tua than Teddy Bridgewater entering 2022 and that didn't work out too well.

How much hope do you have in Tyler Huntley if he is the starter (no league deals acquired by then by the FO) against the Titans?

I have little hope that Tyler Huntley will manage our offense effectively by the time Tua returns. You?
None at all.

If anyone other than Tua is behind center, I basically have no hope. Not this season. I don't want the wins if they're not getting into the playoffs.

Alot of intrigue. He showed flashes when Given the opportunity. He can't be worse than ThoMason. Brings an athletic dimension we have never had. Maybe he will be our purdy

Hope? IDK. 🤷. But I do know that we cannot put Thompson out there. He doesn’t trust what he sees and never did. He can’t unload the ball. He’s just not good enough to play at the NFL level. I don’t know that Boyle is any better. So it’s got to be Huntley

Skylar had open receivers down the field several times on Sunday. He actually looked their way and decided to either check it down or freeze and take the sack. He has zero confidence in his ability to make big throws. It’s mind boggling. Didn’t even try.

It’s got to be Huntley. Has to be. Not that he’s some savior by any means, but he absolutely gives us the best chance to win. He’s not a world beater but I watched him in Baltimore and that team bought in and rallied around him when he was in there for LJ.

Maybe don’t go into the game with a 60 play install for your backup QB? That might help, too.

I think Baker Mayfield might have been available at that time, I remember wanting him as a backup and I don't think he had many offers.

I have hope he will give us a spark and we can win Monday. I don't know if we will but he gives me hope.

The problem is, you have to change the whole offense for Huntley. The offense we run is tailored only for Tua to maximize his abilities (not much). Now when our back up comes in, we're going to need our oline to actually be good (holds breath).
What offense

Let's be honest, even with a healthy Tua, it was no guarantee we could make the playoffs. Our roster has eroded badly. When Grier drafts project player, after project player, and we have good players leave via free agency, it's not hard to see why there is such a dramatic fall off.

A big reason this season is over is becuase these project players never developed.

Have you ever thought that it's on coaching that only a few young players see the field? All you have to do is look at Gase and his fascination with mediocre veterans over guys like Jay Ajayi, Kenyan Drake, and DVP.

Yeah, that's the part I didn't bother saying. It wasn't exactly a probable playoff berth given how the season got started, but I would have hedged my bets on Tua having a torrential 6-game streak if he didn't get hurt.

The thing that is apparent is that the team just isn't all that good. Let's watch and see what happens against Tennessee. I believe Miami will win, but what's the value in that victory? What is it really? TN is going to out-lose this team on its way to the bottom. There's enough talent on this Dolphins team to beat those guys. I don't even care if Huntley and the offense look good on their way to doing it, because those guys are mailed in. This team is dumb enough to come out of this game thinking it has any meaning to it when it doesn't.

And if Tua wasn't hurt, these Miami Dolphins probably score 50 or 60 on this Titans team. A lot of whoop over nothing, although it would have been fun for a team sitting at 2-1 going up 3-1 on the season. It would have been, I agree. You can always dream and have hope provided you are in the playoffs.

should have just given Tannehill what he wanted. Say what you will about him at the very least he can read a defense better than any back up on the team.

I'm sure he wants a starting job for the rest of the year and we've got a guy wearing sunglasses wanting to play again.

Just got to cross our fingers and hope.

We can't, or better put, should not be trading away draft picks for other QBs this year.

So got to hope he is good enough to add some points, while the defense keep us in games.

If at any time we fall into a shootout, we will probably not be in good shape.
