Any new news on Charles Bentley

The Dolphins are interested but taking it slow. If I had to guess, I would say the Dolphins don't feel any need to get him under contract this long before training camp. They're probably questioning his work ethic and commitment to getting into great shape, at this point. If they trusted him they would just sign him and then have him come into the facilities for a rigorous conditioning program. But, I am guessing he's in such poor shape that they don't trust him. They're probably in show-me mode, telling him to work out as hard as he can, show them his progress some time right before camp, and then if he shows them something they like, they'll sign him.

I see Bentley and McKinney as the same player at this point. Bentley was a much better player when healthy, but at this point they both carry injury risks and cannot fully be counted on.

he wants to play center. always has and is sticking to his guns
about being a STARTING center on a team.

this is why he is not a dolphin right now and probably why he is not
signed elswhere yet either.

he MAY settle for a guard spot AFTER the t/c's are almost over but
that is a while off so i wouldnt hold my breath about signing him for
a while.

the browns found there center and there line gelled enough to not rock
the boat while he was out and he realized this and ASKED to be let go
so he could find his starting job.

i think right now, and i didnt before, miami has a good shot at being the team
he selects. if what we are hearing from ota's about the trifecta being scared
about the o-line and its depth then i see them going after him pretty hard if
he comes off his starting center thing.

If i recall, Bentley wants to play Guard.... NOT center.. maybe i'm wrong, but i believe i read that in an article. can anyone back that up or no?

He was a great FA. Got signed from the browns got hurt. Had surgery got infected finally came back, ran a real slow 40. Complained he did not want to play G or be a BU Center at CLE got cut and is now out of a job.

Not sure where you get your information from but this was posted on Rotoworld on June 11.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports free agent OL LeCharles Bentley would prefer to play guard for his next team.

It's surprising Bentley is already being choosy. He's coming off a bunch of knee surgeries and was apparently timed in the 7s when the Browns asked him to run forties for his physical. He should be willing to play wherever.

Offensive lineman LeCharles Bentley: Close to 10 teams have been tracking Bentley, charting to see his condition and, at this point, his pricetag. Teams that have expressed varying degrees of interest in Bentley include Buffalo, Cincinnati, Miami, Oakland, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, San Francisco and Seattle. Each has a need along the offensive line, but no team’s offensive line needs are any greater than Miami’s and St. Louis’. The Rams efforted to sign former Raiders offensive tackle Barry Sims, but lost him to San Francisco. Early in July, Bentley might be the first player teams target when they return from a July 4 vacation."
