Position changes happen all the time in college football, but not so often in the pro's. The jaguars made it happen with there 1st round pick jones, a 6'5 QB with great speed converting him into a WR. I think Nick Saban being a DB's coach at heart could transform David Boston into a good FS/SS. He's got the size the speed and the ability to catch the ball. IMO the only thing in question is his ability to tackle and learn the defensive playbook.

Its funny you say that b/c I had thought that he has the perfect build for a SS. He would be a killer. Having said that I cant see any way he can make that kind of transition. Its a pipe dream that could never come to fruition.
