Any thoughts on the Jet game?

There's very little chance we'll beat the Ravens next week as well....

We can't score. If you can't score, you can't win.....

We'll end up 5-5, tied for last place in the AFC East by the time two weeks have passed.....

Sound crazy, but maybe that's a good thing. Maybe then, we'll change our old ways of finishing the end of the season soft. Maybe another two losses{4 in a row}, will be what this team needs to wake them up, and start playing with some balls for a change.....

This team is soft. I'm sick of it. We no longer strike fear into anybody.....

JETS 24
PHINZ 13

5-4....Let the annual slide begin!!!!

SAME OLD PHINZ!!!!

Yes we have problems but I think were doing the sky is falling thing a little to quickly.

We have a definte shot of winning this game.
Remember the Fins once won 7-8 with one of the lousiest QB's ever in Huard and went to a Super Bowl with a QB that never started a full season with another team ever again! (Woodley)

The biggest problem you did mention though is that the team is soft! They seem heartless. Where are the Big hitters on D??
Can any of you see the NFL flagging one of our guys for a vicious hit? I haven't seen it in a while. It's not hopeless though.

If the D finds some heart/aggressiveness and if the OLine gets Dixon back full speed and start gelling again we have a shot at this season turning out well. They have the players to do it, no doubt about that.
These are big if's but not impossible scenarios.

Lucas had his off games filling in for the Jets , but you always felt like he could put some points on the board - i haven't seen that in his 2 starts yet.

The Jets win if:
-they score first
-are able to sustain some long drives like last week
-Turnovers - get them - don't give them
-force miami to beat you through the air - thus eliminating the ricky factor

Miami Wins if:
-they can control the clock with Willams
-eliminate TO - 9 in the last 2 i think
-Force Pennington into bad decsions
-Hold the Jets running game under 100 Total Yards

With a 3rd string QB starting on a national televised game against a huge rival trying to stop a 2 game skid and keep your hold on the east -- could be asking a bit much for the kid - Could be the X-Factor you never know, but you I think you need Lucas to have any type of chance. Since he won't get much practice in this week I don't know what you can hope for. The last 3 games our rushing D has been much better and our passing D was solid last week against a team that had to throw most of the game.

Hey folks,

Just dropping by to check in and see what the vibe is about the Jet game. As you can imagine, the mood up around here is much better this weekend, and most fans have forgotten how crappy we’ve looked throughout the season.

Yes we put it all together – for one game – and looked like the team we all thought we’d be, but a) we’ve sucked at home and b) there has been no consistency at all.

The real difference is, of course, Chad, who’s playing out of his head. Can it last? If it can for one more week, it’ll be an interesting time in the AFC East.

Stupid Jets. “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!â€Â

Cheers!

Hey man, I live in Manhattan too. I am not worried at all, I don't think we should be worried after losing in Lambeau in cold weather like every team has against Brett Favre. Anyway here is my prediction:

Miami 33
New York 10

I am going, and third time will be a charm.

We are just superior to the Jets. I think Sage will be fine if he plays, I would rather see Ray but we will be fine. We are better than them in almost every way, and with the streak over, the Fins can go in and dominate.

wow!
ny fans with some class. you guys are alright in my book, and i take back all i said bad about you ny jets fans. we're all talking football here, and nary a smack is heard. this is why i come to this board. great fans, even from the oposition.

but i say give sage a chance. he surely can't be worse than lucas has been the last two games. and i think there is no excuse for ray's poor performance, either. i mean he had a week off to get timing and routes down with the receivers he had. handing the ball off to ricky can't be that hard. what's his problem.

the turnover thing is killing the dolphins, and the rest of the team is playing with no heart. it's kind of like they expect to lose, and are just going through the motions. i saw a sideline shot in the game monday night, and all the guys looked shellshocked, dejected, no emotion, just in a "let's get this over" mode. it was really depressing.

i don't know what the solution is, but i say give rosenfels a chance, it can't be any worse than the last two games. and maybe someone with confidence and a hunger can get this thing turned around.

the defense needs to get angry, and physical, too. it seems since the feidler injury, the whole team has just let down and gone into a hibernation or something, awaiting the return of feidler. now jay is great, and i am perfectly happy with him running the show (IMO he's the best of the "second tier" QB's). but the team seems to have lost all confidence, drive, fire, all the other adjectives, to play to win. that's whats needed in this modern NFL, if they want to be a superbowl champion.

go dolphins. lifelong fan since joe auer's KO return in 1966. born and raised in miami, still live there, work for U of M.

I think we have to many players on this team that are sick of meltdowns. This is probably the biggest game of our season. If we win we should be fine with a 7-3 or 7-4 record when Jay gets back and will have a shot at homefeild. We lose, and we also lose first place in the east, and will only be 1 game out of last. We can also kiss our hopes of homefeild good bye. 12-4 will most likely win homefeild, that would mean we would have to win every game after sunday. Untill the last game or 2 of the season there isn't a game as important as this one. I think our boys will step up.

Positives:
Dixon will be back and Spriggs will be gone. Who ever is QB might get a chance to throw the ball.

Carter and Chambers had 1 week to shake off the rust.

We aren't playing Brett Farve.

The Jets have yet to win back to back games all season.

The streak is over, so the players won't hear about the demons all week.

i have no idea why the phins are favored. i wouldn't pick 'em to beat ANYbody the way they're playing now. as for asking for sage, we gotta be careful what we wish for. can't be any worse? how about someone playing as bad as lucas who can't run for first downs? hopefully i'm wrong. but it's been said before: if sage were that good, he'd have been ahead of lucas already. i'm thinking the team will step up, but i agree that they have looked dejected and beaten out there. i don't think they've dropped 3 straight in the wannstedt era, though, and i think he'll be able to pull a miracle out of them.

Yep, Jets are favored by 3, which makes the oddmakers believe that it is pretty close. You get 3 points for home field advantage. Hoping we smash that spread by like 100 though.

sorry espn pick-em always has the spread wrong -- they have miami favored - i was surprised -- jets by 3 - my bad i am sorry again

Okay time for me to chime in.

Without a doubt the biggest game of the season for the Jets will be this Sunday. Win and they will be just a game out of first, lose and fall to three out basically killing any hopes of making the playoffs.

Being a Jets fan I always worry when this team plays at home. For some reason or another under Edwards the Jets have been an AWFUL home team. I can see the Jets winning this game and I can see them blowing a big lead and going in the tank.

For the Jets to win alot is going to depend on taking Ricky out of the game. Maybe they do it like last week by jumping out to a big lead and forcing Breez to throw or controlling the game on the ground with Martin either way keeping Ricky's touches to a minimum will be crucial.

I have no idea what to make of the Jets anymore. One week they blow a 21-3 lead against Cleveland the next week they dominate one of the best teams in AFC on the road. Hopefully the team we saw last week will be the one that shows up this week.

The Jets run D really has improved, but if it hadn't they'd still be able to stack 10 men in the box to jam Ricky -- or block our guys when Ray manages to connect to their only remaining d-back.

But seriously, folks...

Does anyone out there have any analytical insight as to why things pretty much worked for Ray when he came in off the bench for the Jets, and why it hasn't worked for the phins? If you looked at that old Jets game film what EXACTLY would you find different?

I'd welcome Jets fans' thoughts on this. But remember, "smack" does not equal "thoughts." Thanks :)

Hey Clumped One,

If you think that contributing $$$ to the cool thing that IS Finheaven entitles you to come on here and offer denigrating predictions against our beloved Phins, well....

it does. :p
