Does anybody else agree that Ogun is just as big of asset to the team as JT, dont get me wrong i love JT and he is a good player but last year it just seemed that Ogun was always pressuring the QB and JT seems to go away all game except for a couple of times when he might make a big play..........I just think Ogun made his presence known all game where as JT was quiet, and when he did make big plays most of them were when it didnt matter(end of half, down by 20 with 5 left, up by 20...........) Any thoughts?

I think Ogun shined in part because of the double teams on JT. I agree he's a great player and should be our top priority right now in the front office, but I wouldn't say JT was absent at times in games, he was just occupied with two blockers.

Ogun should be signed soon since we got back the $3.7 million from Ricky. I just hope the Front Office doesn't let this drag on to long. HE NEEDS TO GET TO CAMP!

Yea but i have watched each game twice, and if you look closely Ogun got double teamed ALOT too......especially in that Indy game where he was double teamed and reached over the blockers and grabbed payton and threw in to the ground with one hand..........everybody keeps saying JT is always doubled and it makes Ogun shine, but if you go back and watch you see he is doubled just as much

People seem to forget the reason Ogunleye got to the Quarterback so much the past 2 years was because Jason would get double-teamed every game.
Same thing happen with Trace Armstrong when he was a Dolphin.
How many sacks did he record for the Raiders the year after he left the Dolphins?
Someone look it up damnit!
Um, ... :woot:

OK so somebody please tell me......what is the difference in JT getting doubled and Ogun getting doubled?????They both get it

Nevermind i took the liberty to look it up myself.
Here are Trace Armstrong's total sacks:
2000 Miami Dolphins - 16.5(with Jason)
2001 Oakland Raiders - 0.5(w/o Jason)
2002 Oakland Raiders - 4(w/o Jason)
2003 Oakland Raiders - 3 (w/o Jason)
Conclusion:
Taylor > Ogunleye

Well Trace had more years here with JT and didnt put up those kind of numbers either

Draw your own conclusions from this. I am just the messenger. :D

Ugh The formating got screwed.

[font=&quot]Numbers between the *'s are sack totals/

Sorry, but Trace was very good as well, even without JT. He may have had his best year with him, but Armstrong was already good.

FACT: Jason Taylor is not double-teamed nearly as much as many Dolfans assert.
FACT: Adewale Ogunleye lines up against two players more often than JT.
FACT: Wale has to adjust his rush due to the TE. That takes about 0.5-1 second off his rush.
FACT: Jason benefits from Wale.
FACT: Jason Taylor flourishes with talent opposite him.
FACT: After Trace left, JT's sack totals dropped.
FACT: With Trace and Wale, JT's sack totals soared
FACT: In 2001, Trace Armstrong only played in 4 games.
FACT: Trace Armstrong is 39 years old
FACT: Dolfans need to rewatch the games.
FACT: Nobody says Wale is better. Just that JT isn't the sole reason he got 15 sacks.

DUDE!!!!! you are the one i have been looking for!! you actually pay attention to the games, Ogun is doubled just as much if not more than JT and still manages to ALWAYS be closer to the QB then any of the other 3 lineman. PERIOD........everybody else needs to re-watch every game from last year

Ogun is a bigger asset to the phins, just because of age alone. I think Taylor is just a notch above Ogun in level of talent, but Ogun hasn't even hit his prime yet. Ogun will soon be an elite back. Some consider him an elite back already. He sure will be paid like one. I'm sure he'll perform like it too. Lets get this guy signed already.

ogun is by far the best defensive player on the dolphins roster, anyone watching the dolphins the past 2 years can see that......noone rushes the qb better and have you people ever watched him play the run??????????????
