I am not suggesting that the pass/run split on the play calling is being set in stone by this game. I realize that the Dolphins are trying to get their new QBs all the work they can handle. That, and they were playing catch up from about half way through the 3rd quarter.

48 pass plays
28 rushing attempts. I don't know about you, but I am expecting a complete reverse to somewhere around 40-45 rushing plays and 25-30 passing as we slip into the regular season. It is what I am hoping for anyway. Do you have any thoughts on the subject?:dolphins:

Nope Cause I Want To See More Bombs From Culpepper To Chambers But If It Makes Us Win The Game Im Okay It Just Depends Who We Play.

It's preseason, you can't evaluate a QB by how well he hands the ball off, he needs to throw the ball for you to evaluate his ability in your system. We basically have three new QB's in a new system, even though Saban said we were running Linehans system, in terms of terminology it is, but make no mistake, it's Mularkeys system and it's new.

uuhhhhhh thanks?

Hmmmmmm I don't see any real disagreement here, but your Alzheimers got the best of you before you responded to my actual query which had to do with play count, not Mularkey vs Linehan. Listen to Nick and focus, focus, focus........:goof:

I'm not sure you understand. In order to answer your question you have to know why the count was, what it was. With a new system and QB's you can't assume anything so they need to show what they can do. You can only see that if they actually throw the ball. Talking about the two coaches was to explain why Miami was so unbalanced with run to pass. It aint rocket science.

understood amigo

My original premise included the thought that the pass/run count was skewed because of the desire to work the new qbs. The query was do you think the count evidenced in this evening's game will be reversed during the regular season. [deleted].:sidelol:

40-45 running plays seems a bit too much. I think we only did that a few times last year and thats because we had Ricky and Ronnie.

yeah, upon further consideration

I think you are probably right. Without Ricky in the house 40-45 running plays might be a little overzealous. Either Ronnie would be getting beat up or they would be handing off to lesser backs. Either way, I still feel a lot better about our fellas that throw the ball, than I have in recent years. I would be really happy with some balance. Cheers, B:D

all that running 40-45 times a game does is keep the game close and then you find yourself down late in a 2 minute drill having to pass pass pass after you've been running all game.
also, how many times do coaches have to preach BALANCE for people to understand how important it is? damn man we finally got 3 yards and a cloud of dust out of here and now you wanna bring it back. no thanks.
