I think Roth would make a sick linebacker, he moves like one and he has that intensity
anybody think that could be an option
 
yeah good thought but im pretty sure he has been trying to gain weight to fit more onto the defensove line in the offseason i hope he gets more playing time this season he's an absolute beast
 
I think linebackers have to be somewhat smart to play the position, and I'm not sure Roth fits that description.
 
hes 275...WAYYYYY too slow for LB, i think he could play some 3-4 de/olb if he had to but he would be a liability in plays in which he drops into coverage. We really dont need him to start or even get considerable minutes this year b/c we are pretty deep at DL. I could see us starting Roth next year (07-08) over Kevin Carter or Vonnie Holliday bc by then Roth should be a master of the system and those other too would be old as hell. right now hes just a situational lineman
 
if you think hes slow i dont no what your talkin about? have you seen him play, he would rip rite through our d line and than the o line. roth is straight up nasty and i think he might be able to start this year

I think he should get a look at the position. Besides we gave up the greatest CB in Dolphins hostiry for him. I don't think he contributed as much as Surtain would have last year. I cant help but think if Surtain was with Miami last year...we would have atleast 1 more game.

We didnt trade Surtain for Roth. We trade Surtain for a 2nd round pick and then ended up using that pick on Roth. U cant compare these two players like its reletive or something. We had to get rid of Surtain bc of the cap situation and he probably wanted out. A 2nd rounder nowadays is a great value for Surtain. And besides, what is Surtain doing in KC?
 
Actually, watching him play last year he looked very stiff and slow. He played a lot different than he looked in his college highlights.

As he gets older he will be able to fit into this DL perfectly.
 
Obviously I like the guy, but he came to Iowa as a highly touted linebacker out of high school, but they moved him to DE so he wouldn't have to think as much. I love the guy, but he's a better DE.
