Not that he said anything terrible, but just the fact that he felt he needed to say something at all. If I'm not mistaken, wouldn't you say him feeling disrespected had something to do with his terrible coverage the last few years. He was getting burnt all over the place and if it wasn't that, he was commiting a dumb pass interference or personal foul penalty.

I'm happy for him (because I used to like him as a Dolphin) that he is finding success up in NY, but my god....shut up. And for that I say, good ridence Sam, you were very good for us for some time in Miami. But the last few years, you were pretty overrated. Sorry for the rant.

Usually when posting a thread like this it is polite to provide a link, or at the very least the actual quote.

From the article:

Madison told The Star-Ledger (Newark, N.J.) he feels he was disrespected by the Dolphins organization and some members of the team. "I really didn't feel wanted down there the last few years," he said. "It wasn't so much Coach (Nick) Saban, because we were only together for a year, but a lot of things bothered me about how I was treated."

This is interesting because he's been getting burnt like toast up in New York throughout the year, and his interception and fumble recovery really has done very little to outweigh how much he's been getting slapped around.

Well, one thing I'll always remember him for is talking.....sometimes talking more than playing and for that matter, backing it up.

Well he's got 2 interceptions with the Giants so far...do any of our DB's besides Travis Daniels gift have interceptions this year? Not a slam, just curious because honestly no play by any member of our secondary sticks out in my mind as a wow type of player this year.

Miami has worse problems to worry about, than what Sam
Mad has to say.

of course im a little anoyed but you cant say that some of it wasnt warranted. Maybe not all of it but some of it, i hated to let him go, he had been here for so long and done so much for us, the last couple years were slow thoough...........

Who cares! It's always easy for players to blast their former teams, especially if they are on a winning team compared to their former. Somehow in their minds it gives them a sense of vendication and sense that they personally had something to do with both. Plain fact is, he was let go because he wasn't worth the money we would to have spent on keeping him. Although our current group isn't close to top talent at the CB spot, he hasn't done anything to affect Miami or NYG's positions in any way. A business decision was made and if you feel you are in a better place now because of it, great ! Now shut up, do your job in NY and our guys will try to do their job down here.
:boohoo:

We'd be very fortunate to find another Sam Madison. You can slam him all you want, but he and Pat were the best corner duo this team ever had.... I wish him luck in NY........

Yeah, I didn't want to see him go but he wasn't very consistent the past few years. It was great to see him pick off McNair 3 times in that game but he wasn't worth what he wanted. I think these veterans should always be challenged by the younger talent to keep them at the top of their game. That's the part I think he shouldn't complain about, bringer in younger talent made him feel threatened.

I see where he's coming from, but 32 year old cornerbacks aren't exactly a framework around which you build a defense.

Madison's mouth has always annoyed me.
Whether he's talking crap to a player and getting flagged for it or his usual laughing it up in the middle of games with guys he likes. Always seemed his concentration was nill. Add to that his complete lack of tackling skills and his out of bounds hit penalties and his regular PI penalties and I pretty much couldn't stand the guy the last couple of years he played here.

He's getting his arse handed to him in NY so I don't see what he's getting at. Not like his career has been reborn up there or anything.

Pretty funny his comments on the Phins bringing in new blood to compete with him. He's crying like a lil beeyatch because he dosen't want to be challenged. PLEASE!
