There was a practice at Dolphin Stadium last night right? I searched the two most recent pages and I did not see any reports on it. Darrington did not blog about it... I was just wondering what happened?

theres a video on miamidolphins.com with that practice, but i ahven't seen any reports from it yet

I personally went and am glad to give a quick report of it.

It was really packed and I was surprised. I went last year and there was about 500-600 people there. we barely took up a bottom row. It was awesome last year because Saban gave a speech and I got to meet all the players. Remember, it was Saban's first season and we were coming off the 5-12 season which was reason no one was there.

This year was packed. About half the stadium was full and tons of people. They did their drills in about 45 min and quickly got into a nice scrimage of offense vs defense with downs and punting just like a real game. Culpepper looked sharp and went down the field for a touchdown quickly and efficiently. Ronnie Brown looks so big and I kept getting giddy because he would line up behind Culpepper and then motion as a WR to have 4 WR on the field. Everytime that was done, he would get the ball and put on a nice drive. McMichael also looked amazing and I personally think he will have his biggest year yet. Near the end, he went down for a minute and it sucked the breath out of everyone in the stands. It was nice to see Culpepper trotting over to check up on what seems to be one of his fave recievers/te. He got up though and seemed fine. His backup, Peele, also looks as sharp as can be and really caught some nice passes. He is a big guy and will be a big part of our D. Another reciever to look out for is Hagan. He impressed the heck out of everyone. There was a play where we werei n red zone and he was being covered by Renaldo Hill. The QB (forgot who it was) zinged it to Hagan and he jumped up and caught it with one hand and fell down. Amazingly, he held on to it and it was the play that got the biggget crowd reaction. Beasly also looks great and really cleared the way for Brown. Marcus Vick was kinda bad this time as he muffed a punt once and only caught a few passes on offense. Harrington was the same Harrington from camp who made bad decisions and looked like crap. He didnt score one TD. Lemon looked great and was able to scramble nicely. We will have to see what this kid has learned this weekend. Another notable was Welker who ran a punt in for a TD. Yeah, it is practice and you cant tackle him but not one person tocuhed him whcih is what they were playing. He zoomed passed everyone before anyone notice and it was amazing.

Sorry for the clutter but in a hurry to leave work for lunch. Let me know if you want to hear about anyone else and I will try to remember what I saw of him.

If you go on the Sun-Sentinel page they have a 9 1/2 min. segment that looks pretty cool. There's a few plays that got the crowd going. One play was Harrington's deep pass to McMichael when he almost came down with it but lost it on the way down...woulda been a sweet TD had it been completed. The other one that I saw was Culpepper threw an INT to Norm LeJunne....it must of been miscommunication or somethin because the receiver looked like he didn't know what the play was. (Couldn't tell who the intended receiver was)

Great report! Very lucky guy to be able to see the team practice. Man I gotta get out of here

At one point Daunte was something like 20 for 22. He threw the intermediate routes, the medium range shots, took one shot deep, when the ball left his hands, it's easy to see the arm strenght. I can't believe he's here..What the hell was the Vikes thinking..

THANKS!

Yeah, no problem guys. The reason the O overshadowed the D was how the scrimage was done. For some reason, it seemed when Culpepper was out there, the 2nd string team was out there for the D. When Harrington was out, it was the first string. The coverage was decent but I dont think we will be able to know how good or what help we need until this Saturday (I am going to the game and ON THE FIELD before the game, cant wait). Jason Allen seemed pretty good and I like Saban's idea of him being a safety. He is quick and picks up the proper coverages. If you notice, I didnt mention Chambers and reason was Allen seemed to back up the cb covering chambers alot. Zach Thomas was also awesome like always, theo nly one ever stopping ronnie. It seemed on every play, ronnie hit the secondary before being touched.

And yeah, Culpepper was crazy. He was just on fire and didnt miss. He was into the game and always and I mean ALWAYS clapping and getting people riled up. His clear favorite was mcmichaels. The int he threw was on a 7 on 7 drill and on the other side of the field so I was unable to see what happened.

Let me know if yall looking for more info on someone else. I will def take pics this sat.

To be completely honest, I felt that the majority of his passes went toward the direction of mister wes welker.

and yea that was a culpepper laser thrown toward hagan. But Hagans next time on offense he was coming across the middle and daunte tossed him a nice one on the numbers. Hagan appeared to get scared of the LB coming down the line straight for him and pulled his hands in and dropped a very simple catch. So you gotta take the bad with the good

Yeah. You have to understand he is still a rookie and working to get better. Things like that happen but the more he plays, the more comfortable he will get. Wes Welker was good on offense but I thought mcmichael had more catches, dunno.

It was actually David Bowens. not a LB
