I think that may really help Miami's chance to get into the playoffs. We may be fighting for a Wild Card spot against them unless we win our division.

AFC East: Only Miami and New England will probably be in the playoff hunt.

AFC West: Denver, San Diego and Kansas City have a shot.

AFC North: Pittsburgh and Cincy.

AFC South: Indy and Jacksonville.

Only 6 spots for 9 teams and you have to take out 3 for the other division winners. We really need to win the AFC East title. Only 2 spots will be left if we don't and there is a lot of competition. I am rooting for all those above teams besides the Dolphins to lose unless they play one of our division rivals.

wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to early buddy

The games played early in the season greatly affect teams making the playoffs at the end of the year. Kansas City losing today can only help our cause.

I'm happy cuz I'm from PA and also like the birds, but yes, its good to see afc teams lose. At this point, we just need to take care of business and let the rest fall into place. Realisticly, we need to win 10 games in we want the playoffs. If we can win in Buffalo, we're off to a great start.

No, cuz I was facing McNabb in my fantasy matchup.

I did start the Pats D and not give a damn though. Not at all.

So you wait until later in the year to start following the wins and losses of potential wild card teams? That makes no sense at all. Do losses at the begining of the year count any less than the ones at the end? If we are to make the playoffs this year, (still think it's a long shot, schedule and all, but I'm still hoping), it will probably be via the wild card entry. Don't think we have eclipsed the Superbowl champs just yet. Why not root against potential Wildcard teams? I do it every year, and don't think it's ever too soon to do so.

The KC loss today will have minimal impact if it comes down to it at the end of the year. They lost to Philly, which is neither in our conference or a common opponent. The only thing it did was add an L to the stat sheet. I guess in that view, it was helpful, but it had little significance in the tie-breaker scenario......

If we end up in a tie with Kansas City our Head to Head matchup will be the first tie-breaker (if we are only tied with KC). If it is a thee-way tie (or more), it will first be determined by AFC win-loss record.

It can only help us in the long run. And Saban has something to look at to scheme against.

I'm glad, but personally i think new england fans should be more happy, they will be competing for the wildcard, i see us taking the afc east.

I think you can take Jacksonville off the list.. they are terrible.. They cant score any points, I dont see them fighting for a spot

All NFC wins are potentially good for us.

Also BTW, although it's VERY early, Miami is off to a great start (2-0) in the division's eight "common games" - the third tiebreak inside the division after head-to-head and division record.
