Anyone else happy we no longer have Jay Feeley kicking 4 us?

How does a "professional" kicker miss a 36 yard field goal?
 
He ran his mouth alot . . . but I would be lying if I said that Dan Carpenter makes me feel more comfortable . . . Feely was solid on FG's for us last year. Arguably the Offensive MVP for this team last season (unless u want to give it to Ronnie for playing 7 games or Camarillo for "the catch")

I'm glad he is gone . . . but not because he was a bad FG kicker.
 
Thrilled he's gone. Feeley making all his field goals last year was getting annoying.

Especially since our new kicker can't kick it past the 15 on kickoffs...

I was watching the game and actually thought he made it. It was very close.

But yeah, I'm glad he's gone. Almost 0% chance on 50+ FG attempts.
 
Props to Dan Carp today . . . he made some very important kicks today in a Hostile environment . . . I am starting to forget about that prick Feeley and put trust in carpenter.
 
I think it was a combo of things. We were 1-15 last year and our spokes person was the freaking kicker. When you got ZT, JT, and Porter on the team, I don't want to hear from the place kicker why we aren't winning. That's like going to the salesman and asking why your car is running like crap.

IMO yeah it matters if there is someone more qualified who has been with the team more than a year. Look at Vienitari, he is awesome, but he lets the team leaders do the talking. Who cares what a dude who is on the field like 4-5 times a game has to say?

lol I understand you were trying to support Feely in this post, but you really messed up when u brought up kick offs. I'm not sure if Feely even had 1 touchback last season.

Him and carpenter have the same amount of touchbacks this season with 4. As for the person that said Feeley could not kick beyond 50 we passed on a 50 yarder in this game and Carpenter has not kicked one over 47 yards. Feeley did hit from over 50 last year and has kicked a 52 yarder this year.
 
he was solid for us. the only thing I hated was him running his mouth all the time.
Other than that.... he came through huge for us last season. Best kicker last year.
