...with Ellerbe out, Wheeler limited on some plays, Jenkins playing high snaps, Misi back and augmented by the new guys?

Jones back at safety is also making a difference. Wish he'd have had a game or two to get up to speed for the Green Bay game, but hey. He's back.

I knew Misi would be good against the run, I was curious how he would play against the pass and he's done well so far.

Jenkins has been a nice surprise.

Jelani Jenkins is the biggest improver on the whole team. We still haven't had the opportunity to see Tripp play. He's going to be good as well.

I was encouraged by the LB play overall against Chicago.

Some of this was scheme but it was more sound. Misi had a solid game and Jenkins played well.

Watched the game twice, looking for the stuff that is often missed (by fans and announcers alike). Some stuff jumps out at you -- good and bad. More good on Sunday.

Our play at the LB position the last few weeks has been the surprise of the season for me so far this season. Props to our coaching staff for getting the best out of talented players like Jenkins.

Jenkins is proving he was not a one or two week fluke. This guy can be a long term answer at will. Our coverage from his position is the best its been in years. We aren't just getting beaten like a drum by TE's for a change. If McCain or Jordan can become a starter at SAM, linebacker may not be the need we thought it would be. Jenkins-Misi-McCain with Tripp in reserve is interesting.

I think corner and safety may be bigger needs early in the draft. Maybe a monster at DT as Starks is getting older and Soliai moved on.
