...us defending the short intermediary passing game? On those long drives for Tampa they were killing us with short routes and just moving the ball down the field. Is it the linebackers that need to cover better or should the corners be jamming at the line of scrimmage?

That was without doubt my main concern for our Phins last night.

Let hope over the coming weeks we can tighten up in this respect and let our offence dictate a game!

I worry about the Dolphins defense against the passing game in general. I think these corners have been weak for several years, i'm not as happy with Will Allen as many are but he's clearly our best guy out in the secondary. Hopefully with guys back healthy like Yeremiah Bell we can get better against the pass (although the run was our main problem last year). The loss of Jason Taylor is going to mean a loss of a guy pressuring the QB, hopefully Merling or somebody can step in to get pressure and make the job of the secondary a lot easier.

You're right though, this teams defense vs. the pass is a primary concern for this team.

I'm not really too worried , i saw more of that when the starters left the field, Crowder looked very good, he's going to really beneifit from the new system, we did'nt have porter on the field either he too will play better in this 3-4 package put that into consideration, this defense is going to be fine, don't worry about this side of the ball its the offense we need to worry about and the 1st place i'd start is at reciever, i actually liked the blocking and saw some good things, Ronnie had a couple situations where he could have had a longer run than 2 yards but it seemed like he could'nt make that lateral step to make it happen, he needs to still work on some things, he'll be ready later on, Ricky on the other hand hit the holes nicely and his ability to find openings in defenses is above many rb's we ever had, i saw some of that old Ricky Williams , hats off to this young offensive line, i see some great things happening this year, we just need to find recievers as Sparano keeps saying.
