Just wondering if there will be additonal signings on the horizon, and I understand that is likely anyway. Just curious about intentional additions not related to injury. Do We sign another running back? Do we make room for a Charles Rogers? What current Dolphins is on the hot seat? (e.g., Lehan).

Just curious what you guys are hearing in the Miami media?

Thinking maybe a trade is in the works still for Jeff Z . . . didn't think we would carry 10 guys on the line. I think possibly another RB could be in the mix . . . and whoever performs better out that person and Suggs would stick around for the season and Sammy Morris would be the 2nd/3rd RB and the backup fullback . . . him and MInor would still be major factors on special teams however. Could bring in another CB in case some of the injuries back there aren't improving. I think the staple of our team is complete tho. Oline is a possiblity as well.

This name "Eddie Jackson" :fire: gives me the creep..He reminds me of Reggie Howard...He got beat during the preseason several times and last year several times as well. I sure hope we find a replacement for him...
I wonder why he made the team even though he is not a bad special teams player.

Seriously doubt Saban is through tweaking. Expect us to maybe sign Rogers at least. Still anticipate him possibly trading off one DL, probably Zgonina, for either a RB or OL or even linebacker.

difference here would be Reggie was our nickel back, hopefully Jackson will be the 4th or 5th string CB, which IMO is ok for a guy like him . . . he didn't do as bad in the preseason as people think . . . and I thought he tackled well on the few plays I seen of him.

I am with you all the way on that one. If there is anything to be tweaked, I think we should look for someone to replace Jackson and/or Lehan. We need to get better at the nickel and dime positions. Jackson has looked pretty bad at times.

Or better yet...

Search for some veteran backups on the OL. We have injuries to some of our key depth players at that position.

He's a decent tackler, but he has been beaten in coverage more than any of our top dbs this preseason. One thing I did noticed about him, he plays hard on every down. I was hoping Shirdonya Mitchell was going to beat him out, but I guess he didn't show enough in camp to be kept on the active roster.

I noticed that as well. He was put in a tough spot one of those games where I seen him get beat, but he never quit on the play. Lets face it . . . he's not a starting caliber CB, and I would wish for more desirable choices as a nickel back . . .tho I do think he is an upgrade over Reggie Howard. But for a guy who is scheduled to be there for depth purposes and big WR sets by the other team . . .he is not a bad option . . . i mean we can't be perfect everywhere . . . I was rooting for Mitchell as well, but he showed still alot of inexperience during the preseason . . tho I thought he vastly improved thru the course of the preaseson. If he is our nickel, he is probably at best an average option . . . our 4th string/dime situations he is a very good option IMO.

As far as on the hotseat/players we could get rid of to improve, Zgonina, Lehan, Jackson, Cliff Russell all seem to fit that bill.

I have to agree with you there. We could do a lot worse then him. He plays hard and that's what Saban wants from his guys. Saban will make them better players over time.

I think we should give Russell some time. He has serious straight line speed and he probably can get behind most DBs, especially if a dime back is lined up on him. I see a big mis-match there.

I think my view of Russel is a little skewed, given that he never did anything when he was here in Cincy, and I'd rather take a chance on a Charles Rogers type of receiver, than another small receiver. Just MHO.

:D Well in that case I agree.

Andre Goodman will be our nickel back once Daniels returns from injury...we only have to deal with Jackson as a nickel back for a little bit, so cut him some slack...

If a veteran like Antowain Smith is going to join the roster, it will be after the first game...so that his full year salary is not guaranteed.
