Would be a great reference for all those forum GMs deciding which players to cut/move on from. Thanks!

I really really hope our FO does their own tape studies. Not a fan of PFF's methods.

I think PFF could be so much more useful if they tweaked their scoring system. Its very flawed as is IMO...

Same here. I feel like I'm always reading stuff like, "So-and-so graded out as the top 4-3 pass rushing defensive end with 2 total sacks on the season.........but oh wow the QB HURRIES this guy had! Wow you should have seen em'!" Yes that stuff matters, but to me it's like giving WRs a great score for getting open while they are unable to catch the ball...which PFF also may do for all I know.

PFF is better than anything else that is out.

They are pretty diligent about explaining themselves and why they grades things how they do.

What exactly about PFF's system of grading don't you guys like?

I always hear people bash ppf, I never hear anyone offer a better option. There ways of doing things generally makes a lot of sense.

It very rare I've seen anyone make any kind of quality argument to there grades once they explain them. If you want sports card stats continue watching espn.

Ya I don't really get the trashing of PFF. You can't watch every player across the entire league. It's a quality resource, it's obviously not gospel. It's just another piece of the puzzle.

The issues with individual grading are that one must have a deep understanding of the specific offensive or defensive scheme that is being employed.

It might even look to us like somebody made a mistake but then we look at it more closely maybe somebody besides him made a mistake and he was trying to compensate. Sometimes the play calls or what was called on the line of scrimmage might be something that we’re not aware of. That could happen in any game. You think a player did something that he shouldn’t have done but maybe he got a call, a line call or a call from a linebacker or he thought the quarterback said something so he did what he thought was the right thing or maybe it was the right thing.

I’ve watched plenty of games and you try to evaluate players but you have no idea what went wrong. Something’s wrong and these two guys made a mistake but you don’t know which guy it was or if it was both of them. You just don’t know that. You just don't have that understanding unless you’re really part of the team and know exactly what was supposed to happen on that play. I know there are a lot of experts out there that have it all figured out but I definitely don’t.

Wow whether PFF is meaningful or not they do reconfirm the fact that Turner, Douglas, Fox and Thomas along with Brice McCain, Mitchell, Sheppard and Taylor are huge reasons why we were so bad this year. Goes to show you how bad Mitchell and Sheppard are when even Suh cant make them serviceable. Also very disappointed in our tightends which I thought would be a strength of ours but then if you've a moran in Lazor sending Sims deep and keeping Cameron in to block, what can you do?

Over the course of an entire season this would have a minimal if any effect on a final grade.

Not to mention if one evaluator isn't sure, they send the play to other evaluators to try and get it right. PFF has faced a lot of haters over the years, so work pretty hard to make sure they get things right.

I remember colinsworth had the same argument you did, he sat with them and they explained everything and he ended up investing in the company.

My goodness, Dallas Thomas' score was ridiculous haha.

Nice to see Suh score so high. Miller was #2 on offense. Noteworthy. Vernon and Shelby were #1 and #3...dang. If Vernon goes, I would think you have to try and bring Shelby back.
