Anyone know Billy Voleks contract status for next offseason?

Favre, Bulger, Marino, Brady, Culpepper, Mcnair, who have to start somewhere. Ill take a proven guy in the NFL than a GAMBLE Peyton or Leaf? we could be there and end up with Leaf and set our franchise back another 4-5 years like San Diego did.

That kind of thinking would have never landed the likes of Marino for the phins.

Middle to bottom of the first isnt the Gamble that a top 10 pick is. Your gambling away a shot a really special player up there. Bottom half of the first is not that much better than the top of the second. And when guys go top 10 the expectationa re much higher and hence are considered busts. Marino wouldnt have been a bust at where we got him.

I think that the Colt's "gamble" on Peyton ended up pretty well for them...

Yeah they had a 50/50 shot. They got lucky. Id rather go after someone who has already proven they can do it. Like when the contract runs out on Hasslebeck or Leftwich or any young talented NFL qb nearing a contract year. Yeah it cost alot of money, but it is much better odds that they will continue there success as opposed to hoping you didnt draft the next Akili Smith.

I guess thats why we aren't personell men for any NFL teams. There has to be some skill invloved in selecting players. If it all relies on "luck", as you put it, I'd rather go buy a lottery ticket.

Sart buying up tickets they dont call the draft a capshoot for nothing.

You want me to get you any? I'd rather put some faith into our personell department until they give me reason not to.

Volek was a FA last season.. Buffalo didnt even ink him as a backup.. There was no interest for him as a starter last year..

wrong................

He was a FA but the interest was there.

"Contract Details
The Titans signed Volek to a four-year contract on March 22, 2004. The deal is worth $6.8 million, according to the Associated Press, and there is an option for a fifth year that includes a $4 million option bonus. Volek received a signing bonus of $2.2 million and will receive roster bonuses of $500,000 in 2006 and 2007. His cap number for 2004 is $975,002, according to the Tennessean."

If there was interest in him as a STARTER, there is no way he would have resigned with Tenn..

I doubt tenn will want to get rid of him becasue McHair hasnt really held up injury wise these past couple years and people thought he owuld retire this year so hes gonna get his chance to start in Tenn thats why he signed an extension
