Not sure if anyone noticed but I saw Jason Allen on a couple of plays and also getting beat by Wes Welker.

Was it the game plan to add him in the game as an extra CB or safety?

Any injuries to Nathan Jones or Culver that I don't know about?

Nathan Jones was injured early in the second half. No info on what it was.

I would make the argument that when JA came in, Welker became less effective. I would NOT say it was directly as a result of JA, but it happened at the same time.

I watched the 2nd half again late last night. JA was tasked with jamming Welker at the line and they were doubling him once released. It was the only thing they could do to counteract the pick plays.

Prior to that Welker was running free and tearing our D apart.

always happy to see jason allen getting some playing time. it's been quite a struggle for him.

I don't think Jason Allen is nearly as bad as a lot of people seem to think. I think the guy can be a pretty decent nickle at least.

The Thread said Jason Allen got beat by Welker... I TiVo the game and watched those plays with Welker and he didn't get beat at all... Please don't make statements that aren't true. He in fact did the best job covering Welker....

Well all i saw the whole game was number 33 chasing Welker, Welker handcuffed him to a bed, whipped him, and made him his ***** alllll game long. It was getting to the point of being ridiculous..

I watched the game three times now with my DVR and i watched when JA was on Welker very closely. JA did an outstanding job on him being very physical and sticking with him with his quickness. The only play he didnt do a great job on was the deep incompletion over the middle on the Pats 2nd to last drive.

One stat i would like to point out which reflects our rookie CB's. Moss and Aiken combined for 3 receptions yesterday. the first one to moss was Gibril's fault....terrible help.....and the one to Aiken was an unbalieveable play by him. Smith was in perfect position...i would like to see him make a play on that in the future.

I really thought that Sean Smith was getting abused by Welker. Not because he isn't good, just because the style of welker is so shifty and quick, two is Sean's weaknesses. Pats tried to take advantage of that several times knowing that vontae was shadowing moss. I thought JA played very well stepping in on Welker who is tough to cover by anyone.

I got the impression too that when jason allen stepped in, welker disappeared... it seems to me that every big play by welker, Nate Jones was "on" him ... (except for one play where sean smith got burnt)

i don't know what it is about jason allen, but it seems he's a good starter for miami two times a year: when we play New England

Jason Allen was one of those players that you loathed when he was a starter during the Saban era, yet now you feel bad for him and get excited every time he gets playing time. The true Dolphins underdog story.

When JA came in I saw him do an excellent job on Welker. He was physical and we should give him credit for doing a very fine job. I think we should give him more chances in the nickle. I could easily see him as an upgrade. I really wish we kept him at Safety so we could sit Wilson and insert JA from time to time.

I only remember 1 or 2 plays with Smith on Welker.

I saw 2 things yesterday from Smith that interested me. First, he really looks like a corner that will be excellent when the D-line is applying pressure. He sticks close for a while, then a clock goes off in his head or something and he peaks at the pocket. If the QB isn't hurried, he gets beat. I think he needs to play like Madison used to play. Press for 15 yards with help over the top. We don't have the pressure to sustain it right now.

Second, he had the look of a guy who felt picked on yesterday. They had to do it to roll coverage to Moss. It was a tough assignment for him. It would be good for them to roll some coverage his way in the next game and let him get some confidence back.
