Anyone Realize John Jerry Was Not Cut?

Didn't think he'd be cut, but there's still some time for that, depending on who we pick up. He's had a bad preseason but he's shown some flashes. We need some depth, and he does have starting experience.

Who on the OL would you have kept instead of him? If we cut Jerry we would only have 8 OL players which isn't enough going into the season, we already have only 23 offensive players compared to 27 defensive.

Not Sparanos job to develop Oline positions, people do not understand that. Its the Oline Coaches job to make sure each player develops in a positive manner each year, not the HC job.

The HC is responsible for EVERYTHING. Therefore it IS the HC's job.

Yes, I can see how you know the inner workings of an organization. Of course the HC is the boss but as I said, its the Oline coaches job to develop his talent. Its the HC job to monitor his coaches improvement. Its the GMS JOB TO FIRE ANYONE NOT DOING THEIR JOB, NOT SPARANO. You want to assign ultimate blame here ? Alot of people on here wanted us to get rid of Solai a few years back due to him being immature and overweight entering camp but now he's our stud nose tackle and could be one of the best in the game. Not saying that Jerry is ever going to amount to anything but some players take a couple years to get their act together. Lets wait and see what happens with this guy maybe they see the potential in him and are waiting for his "light" to come on similar to big Paul. People here love to talk about how bad this front office is but lets take a look at what they had when they took over the team and look at where we are at now. I'd say Ireland and Sparano have done a fantastic job so far building us a very yound and very deep and talented team at most positions!

I mean Sparano does own some blame but not a whole lot. He is 3rd in that pecking order.

People just have such distaste for Sparano that they will put blame on him whenever they can. They blame him for the signings, they blame him for the overpaying of players, they blame him for drafts they blame him for the development of Chad Henne and the O-line.

Jeez, apparently there is no need for a GM and position coaches and for Coordinators. Apparently Sparano is to blame and responsible for all of that. You know how much money Ross could save if he just fired Daboll Nolan, and all the other staff Ireland ETC.....

I mean, Sparano is responsible for everything about this team right?

So when again is Sparano supposed to coach the team when he is supposed to be developing these players?

What is the job of an O-line coach? A QB'S coach TE'S coach etc.... What is the job of a GM again?

Seems like you are blaming Sparano for other peoples jobs

How are you surprised? The typical m.o. Is to keep him around and play him. He will shows some signs of "getting it" and then during thr draft a good rg will fall to us but we will pass him by and then cut Jerry after camp. It's the typical lose-lose dolphins front office mantra..

We need to develop some young guard. Were hurt at both tackle and guard. Need to develop for the future that's why jerry was kept. He has only played one year. He needs more time.

He is already 25 so not young per se and his professionalism and dedication showed by how prepared he was this training camp , indicative of the hard work he put in. Exactly the type of player that a team should count on ....
