Anyone seen Cam Smith ?

I dont think anyone expects this, what people do expect is for our high draft picks to at least see the field. Seattle drafted tariq woolen last year in the 5th and he made the pro bowl, so while it is unrealistic to expect those types of outcomes from our players, its very discouraging when other teams are doing it.

Grier has done a lot of good, hes certainly not the worst gm, but hes made a lot of mistakes, and he tries to cover up those mistakes by over spending on bums. He traded UP to draft eichenberg. You know who we could use right now as his replacement? Micheal dieter, who happens to be starting for the texans. The texans lost derek stingley, their star corner to IR, yet the still managed to hold an opponent to 6 points.

The main problem is that we aren’t a deep team, so when the injuries start piling on, it turns into a nightmare because unlike other teams, we dont ever have anyone to step in and fill those voids.

Sidenote - Its not really unreasonable at all to expect cam smith to be out there right now. Why isnt he NFL ready? He was a second round pick… How come other teams can find dogs in rounds 3-7 and the only competent players on the field for us are first and second rounders? So its either the scouting department, grier, or the DC. Boyer had this same squad playing at a high level against the run last year, so maybe it is a coaching problem, but grier is still at fault for this mess. Oh btw, boyer was responsible for finding kohou, not grier.
have you seen De'Von Achane?

Andrew Van Ginkel?

Durham Smythe?

Brandon Jones?

that's just right off the top of my head, players drafted after the 1st and 2nd rounds (you already mentioned udfa Kohou).

so a 2nd round rookie corner isn't getting much playing time after game 4, and suddenly Grier never drafts anyone past the 2nd round who is any good?

let's not even get into trades and free agents (sieler, tyreek, connor, lamm, wynn, berrios, mostert)

He was out there this past Sunday. Missing a tackle and then jumping on the pile after.

I get he’s a rookie but after like the first 2 tds and 200 yards Kader gave up why not throw him in, I’m not sure anyone could play worse. Like that might of been the worst I’ve seen any Miami corner ever play, just pure domination

Read Finheaven for advice.
Apparently, they don't do this prior to the Draft, although they should! I personally don't watch college football, but many here do and post their opinions on who Miami should pick. And every year, it seems that FinHeaven members do much better than Grier and the Front Office.

Yet they remain here on finheaven.

Put in resumes people.

Again you assume he should be playing or he's garbage. Why was Achane not starting from day 1? Why did Dan Marino not start from Day 1?

It's like me telling you right now, Smith is an All-Pro from what he did in the off-season, but that would make me sound pretty foolish.

Don't eat that pudding, until you're sure it's pudding...Especially Chocolate.
Riddle me this then? Why did they have a nickel cornerback defending Diggs last weekend if Smith is so good? Grier doesn't get the benefit of the doubt until these players he drafted prove something in games. He has drafted way too many busts lately to get a free pass. Like someone else already posted Woodley was coming off a Super Bowl year when Marino was drafted. The current players in the secondary aren't that great so if Smith is who you claim he is then he should have no problem cracking the starting lineup.

I actually understand them not playing him yet because he obviously isn’t ready. That isn’t unusual for young CB’s.

Howard who was a 2nd round pick just like Smith, didn’t play in a game until the second half of his rookie season and only ended up playing in 7 games total in his rookie season.

I will worry about Smith if he isn’t playing in the secondary in 2024 but I‘m not worried about the fact he isn’t playing anything but special teams at this time.

I am more concerned with the fact Tindall can’t get on the field at LB. Especially since the ILB position is in desperate need of help at this time.

yes, it is
No, it’s not. How much concern is the question and likely varies widely person to person. I’m not terribly concerned at the moment, however I wasn’t concerned with Iggy either and that didn’t work out so well. The fact Ramsey has been out since 1st day of camp, Apple was inactive this past game, we are starting a 2nd year UFFA nickel corner on the boundary and bottom of the depth chart guys like Bethel are getting playing time, well for me there is some slight level of concern at this point, a 2 or 3 out of 10.

If concern is too strong a word try disappointed, I’m sure many of us were hoping and expecting a 2nd round corner to come in and help shore up one of our weakest position groups from last year and to date that has not happened.

Well if he can contribute right away why isn't he seeing the field? Other teams don't sit players who are able to contribute right away. This reminds me of the Tindall pick where he never sniffed the field and was also a 2nd round pick.
He wasn't a 2nd round pick. He was barely a 3rd. We took him with that comp pick SF traded to us.
