We've played 9 games and I swear I haven't seen the guy one time all year. Any chance we have been playing defense all year with only 10 guys?

He put some pressure on Huard a couple of times today and made a tackle on special teams.

He's pretty much a non-factor and will be replaced this offseason. Saban has not had enough picks to plug all the holes but this draft will bring a big outside 'backer to play that side.

I think Spragan not being replaced had a lot to do with Hodge tanking in TC, and Pope, and Adams are great ST guys/spot starters, but they can't be full time starters.

he actually made some plays today, but before this game, i never saw him do a thing

he reminds me of morlon greenwood..never seems to make any plays..we need to upgrade that position in the off season..

You're giving Spragan too much props. Greenwood was decent in his last year with us, had 108 tackles, twice Spragan's. Greenwood would be a major upgrade to Spragan and that says a lot. I'm hoping Pope or Adams can fill that void. Pope was a good starter in place of Zach though I think he's injured. Adams was a starter but is better on ST. It's a minor hole compared to LT, RG, etc and probably fillable with a non-1st round pick (which we're pretty good at drafting solid LB's like ZT, Crowder, Pope).

Today was Spragens best game ...they sent him on a blitz 2 or 3 times...I think thats the first time I seen it this year..it caught the O by surprise..usually they send Zach and he gets picked up...it was nice to see Spragen coming in from the edge.

If you go to miamidolphins.com and look at the photo gallery from today's game, you could see Donnie Spragan in a couple of pictures hitting Damon Huard.

He obviously was getting pressure on the quarterback today.

I remember on play in particular that made me say wow. He didn't get the sack, but he hit Huard HARD from the blindside and cause the incomplete pass. He seemed to be much more active this week than any other point this season.

He hasn't played bad though. Perhaps we could be getting better play out of that spot, but not every position is going to be filled with studs and superstars. Spragan seems to play within the system and plays hard each week. It just so happenes he doesn't rack up stats or recognition all that much.

If today was his best game, thats a testament to how much of a non-factor he's been.

While he didn't do much the first 7 games, you clearly have NOT been watching our last two wins. Spragan made some excellent plays vs Chicago and vs KC today. He's not a pro-bowl linebacker, but guess what we don't pay him like one either. OUr two star LB's are thomas and crowder. SPragan is a very good LB for what we pay him.
