It just seems to me. That Jason Allen is to damm slow.Thoughts on him.Im really thinking Saban made a mistake.

I would say maybe a mistake for the 16 overall......but its not like he'll end up a horrible player for us, I think he will turn out to be pretty valuable in years to come.....I think he'll start a few games this season.......he'll be a above average safety I think through his career.

I think he will. If he starts, he and Bell will be one of the most rangiest safety duos in the NFL.

I think he will. I don't know if it will happen right away but he and bell coud be together. I like jason and I hope he does good.

I guess I'm one of the few that think he is a lot better than he showed last year during his very few opportunities. I also think it isn't out of the question that he would actualy see more time at CB next year. I expect he'll be a good player for us, it's not uncommon for players to have a few years of progression first. Has to be better than Jamar Fletcher though, the other DB we took in the first round a few years back... over Drew Brees.

I believe he will start, whoever the new coach is they are much less likely to be as cowardly as O'saban Beenlyinand I would expect them to have the guts to start Jason.

As for your comment about his speed, don't know how you get that, from what I've seen he's one of if not THE fastest player on our team. I've seen him race over and recover from mental errors so fast it made my head spin.

Allen ran a 4.39 at the combine last year. So, I don't know that you can say he's too slow.

His biggest problem in 2006 was the holdout. Even the veteran players said we used a defensive scheme that was extremely complicated and difficult to learn. I expect with a full off-season, Allen will be starting in the first game of the year.

Speed is definitely one department Allen is not lacking in. Maybe he appeared slow because he was caught out of position more than a few times? Once Allen learns how to play within Miami's defense, his mental speed will hopefully catch up to his tremendous physical speed.

Jason will turn into a playmaker for us, sooner than later. He will be a playmaker in the defense.
