Anyone who lives in Miami now?

Hi. I am from Virginia and have been a Dolphins fan for 12 years. I have graduated from college in 2010 and my dream is to move to Miami and live there. I was wondering what kind of jobs are available down there and if anyone can help me. I am so passionate about sports and my lifelong dream is to work for the Dolphins organization. Any help would be appreciated my fellow Dolphins fans....

It is not very attractive right now with high unemployment and a terrible football team, but we do offer great weather, the beaches, and good fishing.

Not to sound messed up, but if you plan on moving down here and working, better brush up on your spanish. Most if not all jobs "prefer" (a.k.a. require) that you know spanish.

Like person above mentioned, high unemployment and very few jobs.

Apart from all that, welcome to the land of $40,000 a year job millionares. Where everyone ownes a Porsche or Benz and lives in a huge house but is 100K in debt or have $5 in the savings account.

Might want to tell people what you major was in college. Start here, and plug in you desired employment targets.

What part of Va are you from? I'm in Chesapeake. I lived in Fort Lauderdale for few years and in my opinion a bad day in Fl is better than a good day in Va.

I wouldn't move to Florida. It's completely trasnparent down here. There is no substance to this state.

The job situation is bad down here.. even if you get lucky to find a job, it aint paying worth a ****.. as much as i love this city and the things it has to offer.. ive actuall considered packing up and leaving.. my son, who i have shared custody of, is the main reason that keeps me here... there is money to be made here, depending on what kind of industry you have expereince in - but things are pretty bad down here right now..

You won't know until you find out for yourself. Everyone persuading you not to move here are probably just failures in their own life. South Florida is a great place to live and there's plenty of money to be made as long as you come down here with a plan and can keep focused. Yes, Spanish would be a very good thing if you knew it because in Miami you will feel like the odd one out speaking English only but you can learn it easily. Make that life changing move and do it. You're better off in Broward County. Find something in Lauderdale. Or move on up to West Palm, Delray Beach, Boca, etc.
