Joe Johnson delivered big in the final seconds for the Atlanta Hawks for the second time in three games.

Johnson hit a running layup with 7.5 seconds left to help the Hawks beat the Detroit Pistons 99-98 on Tuesday night.
"Those are the moments I grew up dreaming about when I was playing in my front yard," Johnson said.

The Hawks kept the Pistons from becoming the first NBA team with 40 wins. Detroit, which lost at Indiana on Saturday night, has lost back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Detroit (39-8) still boasts the best record in the league.
"You always dream you're going against the team with the best record," Johnson said.

Ah the lowered expectations of being a Hawk. Instead of dreaming about hitting the shot in game 7 of the finals you resort to dreaming about beating a team by one in the regular season.

Atlanta has good talent (of course they can't sniff Detroit but they should be very competitive in 2 or 3 years). This game shows that Detroit is coming back to earth. A month and a half ago Atlanta would have never even sniffed Detroit. Detroit is still the class of the East but they're no lock to win the Finals, not with Dallas and SA playing so consistant, and not with the Suns getting Amare back!
