I would have thought the Dolphins would have to cut him, no other option.

While Martin is not expected to get a lot in return for the Dolphins, two general managers said last week at the Senior Bowl that Martin would probably worth something.

You can play the game with them a little that they’re probably going to have to cut him if they can't trade him, but then he goes through waivers and you have to compete with other teams in that process. If you trade for him, you get him on a decent contract,” one general manager said.

More importantly, both GMs said that Martin has value because he is an offensive tackle and possesses rare physical traits.

“He’s not a great player, but there aren’t many people who can play the position. Unless something else comes out that we don’t know about, he’s going to be playing next season,” the GM said.

He is a starter in this league and those are worth something. There is certainly a team or two that would consider giving up a 6th or 7th for him which is better than cutting him loose and losing him for nothing.

no one is trading for him, someone will sign him when released though

I seriously doubt we get anything in return. The evil side of me says hold onto him and make him report but the conventional says cut your losses and move on.

Rare physical traits? I guess a man with a vag is pretty rare

He shouldn't be a starter though. He sucks. He started because we had no one else

If you're an offensive lineman in this league and you start for anyone you have immediate value on any roster in the NFL. He would be phenomenal as a depth guy, who teams spend as high as third rounders on. So from their perspective, if you can grab a proven player for a 7th rounder.....that's a steal.

The only thing Jonathan Martin has proven is his ability to steal money from an organization while also quitting on his teammates.

A player proven to not be able to block anyone in front of him

Wouldn't be surprised to see some team try and make a feel good story out of Martin. Hopefully not us.

I can't see any GM giving his teams draft picks, even a 7th, for a GM killer, Coach killer, and locker room killer like Martin. What GM wants to slit his own throat?

Martin is a man who is well educated, intelligent, and has been around football his entire life. He chose to say that his actions were because he felt bullied by strong language and peer pressure that came from an NFL locker room. He neglected to mention that he was the worst LT in th NFL this year when he lost his position to the aged Bryant McKinnie and relegated back to RT where he was one of the worst RT'S in the NFL as a rookie. He quit on his team because of name calling and peer pressure in an NFL locker room.
