How about showing kudos to the young kids on the oline!? I thought they played fantastic! Yes, its against the Bengals but still going up against professional athletes. We all knew there would be growing pains but man are they keeping their own. I finally feel Dolphins have a good nucleus of talent for the future. Lookign forward to see how they perform against the Chiefs!

What I find interesting is the OL success in the run game comes mostly in 4Q with a lead. wouldn't expect that.

IMO that’s when good teams run the ball the best. If you control the clock and wear down the defense the advantage goes to the OL. Especially in games that are close enough that there is always the threat of a PA pass.

Now if they could just run block!
They can run block. If only we had a RB who doesn't go down from first contact then we'd probably see 4+ yards per carry until the 4th quarter comes and it's guaranteed 5 yards every carry.

I have a theory as to the struggles in the run game. It seems to me, teams are stacking the LOS, in an effort to get Miami to beat them by throwing the football.

It could be due to Fitzpatrick's noodle arm, penchant to throw INT's and lack of viable deep threats at WR. I also suspect teams are trying to get Tua to make mistakes now that he's the starter. Once Miami Completes the offense with more complementary pieces the run game should open up more.

As for the success in the 4th quarter. I think its two fold 1) Gailey doesn't give up on the run and 2) Miami's huge OL tires defenses and holes open up a lot easier than earlier in the game.

Agree. But if they can run when the D expects it, why not 1Q?

We add another monster up front and just PUNISH folks!
Love that physical game -- impose your will. Pound them bitches!
>>> really liking the physicality Jackson is playing with!

Our run blocking struggles are at least 50% a result of the play calling. When we get a lead we have played predictable and conservative. That lets the defense stack the box because there really isn’t a threat of a big pass. If we stick with an up tempo offense it won’t allow as many substitutions and the defense will be forced to back off the line of scrimmage a bit.

Doesn't it seem like a large portion of running plays are designed to go up the middle as well? Gaskin popped a few outside, which were the biggest gains on the day.
