April 5th: Barry Jackson Notes

### We're told the Dolphins were willing to pay Michael Crabtree close to $3 million next season, but he wanted at least $4.5 million. He’s reportedly visiting Oakland next week.

### Add Oklahoma defensive tackle Jordan Phillips to the select group of potential first or second-round picks that have been summoned by the Dolphins for meetings at team headquarters. The Dolphins flew Phillips to Davie this past week.

The Dolphins don't particularly need a defensive tackle because of the presence of All-Pro Ndamukong Suh and Earl Mitchell and some young prospects they like (Anthony Johnson, A.J. Francis, Kamal Johnson).

But the Dolphins are intrigued by the upside of Phillips, who had seven tackles for loss and two sacks last season.

### What cornerback did the Dolphins really want this off-season but couldn't get? Ex-Brown Buster Skrine, who picked the Jets over the Dolphins.

### Colts running back Frank Gore, now with the Colts, said the Dolphins “showed some interest in me but not like other teams” and that teaming up with buddy and fellow Cane Lamar Miller “would have been great.”

### Miami’s Wednesday visit with Patriots running back Stevan Ridley, off knee surgery, was simply exploratory and the Dolphins haven’t ruled out signing him.

... Better be a damn smoke screen.

Crabtree should take that deal. Good fit along with some opportunities.

Phillips if he falls in the draft because of his back could develop nicely next to Suh.

High ceiling and bust potential for sure.

i wouldn't!

Heck at this point why not? I mean if Mr.Perriman can become a sensation in a matter of days...

Scouts have been on Perriman longer than "couple of days". Lol. This guy has not just appeared. Be fair.

All signs so far show we are drafting RB. Much to the dismay of many.

Skrines a good player but the jets paid him a lot

All the signs I see are covered with smoke.

No one really knows what we will do.

If we draft an instant starter, be it at ILB, cb, guard, WR, SS or FS, then happy days. We need our first rounder to be a starter. Now. Not next year.

FA still has to be used a bit to fill in some holes OR the team needs a big trade down get more picks.

The one position they haven't been talking about is MLB. It's either smoke or they really are content with Misi in the middle.. which would truly suck....

Jets have one hell of a secondary....if they can get a QB they will be tough to beat, Todd Bowles is doing a nice job up there so far.....
