Are my eyes deceiving me?

You're right on both counts. The white balance is almost yellowish in the first one, and that screws up all the other colors. Also, check out the sleeves... those jerseys are from different years. The 2nd one looks like it's from that gawdawful 51-45 loss to the jest in 1986.
 
It just seems like the aqua was much brighter in the 90's. My dad was watching the Dolphins/Jets a couple weeks ago and said "Now they've brought back the REAL aqua, what they should've stuck with". I told him that its always been that, if it looked different it was due to lighting, but now I dunno.
