I like the idea of getting pumped only AFTER actually winning an important game

Doesn't matter if he knew what he was doing, he didn't get the job done.

That's like a runningback running for the endzone with no one around him, but he trips and falls short of the goal line and is touched down.
 
I give Ross an "A" for intent, a "C minus " for effort, a "D" for cluelessness and an "F" for (chronic) insensitivity. He had the right idea, but ended up not only being used by a coach who wanted to leverage the fins interest into more SF benjamins and had neither any intention nor his wife's permission to leave his beloved Bay area. Ross should have realized that and sent an emissary at most to feel him out quietly instead of making a spectacle of himself. Under no circumstances should he have tried to hire another HC while Tony was still employed; it was crass, offputting to quality personnel like Cowher and no doubt of particular noteworthy interest to Oliver Luck considering it was the bungled hiring of his son's coach who was involved.
 
If you learned anything from 2008 it should be to not judge a coach after one season. 11-5, Sparano for coach of the year!

Remember, Josh McDaniels started off 6-0. Todd Haley was 10-6 last season.

Might be a good idea to give Harbaugh a couple of seasons and see how things go.
 
Harbaugh has done pretty well so far, but don't annoint anyone just yet. I won't give anyone credit until they finish a season, seeing as the 49ers have actually had some pretty fair starts before but were unable to finish them off.
