Porter played on the right and Roth played on the left. Roth's injury has hurt the Taylor plans more then anything. He (JT) was suppose to only play on passing downs.

For the life of me I cannot understand why you change the position of one of the best defensive ends ever to play the game. I loved it when Saban used "Taylor LB packages", but he is no where near as effective. I would rather have a weak link at OLB and the tremendous defensive end that Taylor has always been, than what we are doing right now.

I believe that Roth's injury has also allowed TEs to get off the line easily on early downs.

With Roth out, Porter questionable, and Wake needing time, we could see JT back to the WSLB. I could also see a lot more 4-3. A friend mentioned even going with one or two LBs. and adding DBs.
