does anbody know if a team uses tight ends in a wishbone formation?, if so how many ? i was just wondering and i think it would be funny if the dolphins used the wishbone for the first two games just to throw defenses off . i am trying to remember how many receivers are used in this type of formation. :dolphins:

Yes they do...Keith Jackson was one of the best TEs ever to play in the wishbone offense.

Dolphins using the wishbone? I can see team teeing off on the QB just so they would be ineffective, more than usual, later on.

In a standard wishbone formation, one tight end and one wideout is used. The tight end in the wishbone is often a glorified tackle. In traditional wishbone offenses the run/pass ratio runs about 85%/15%, so there are not all that many chances to catch a ball.

No teams uses it really often in like every game, but you see it from time to time. A couple of years ago the Packers used to throw it out there.

This season Miami used a pretty similiar "full house" type formation a couple of times.

I saw somebody line up in a wishbone formation during a playoff game a few weeks ago. I can't remember who it was, and it was just one play, but I remember seeing it and thinking "WTF are they doing in the wishbone?!?"
