Is it me or as long as Belichick and Brady are in NE, we are just playing for 2nd?

Not only did their 2nd stringers and towel boys just smack us around, they have seven of the first 100 picks in the draft. How do we compete with that? How do we become competitive?

If we stay with Tony....we will be fighting Buffalo to stay out of the cellar.

Lets worry about not fighting over the basement apartment, were closer to that then 2nd place.

Its easy, get a coach that will a win at all cost attitude, with an attack mode. Hire a OC that doesnt completley suck. Most importantly, we NEED a franchise QB at all cost in this years draft..aka...LUCK

What should we do, pack it up and call it a day for the next 7 years? **** that!, Lets build our own dynasty!

Things can change fast. Brady is 34 years old, is not going to be around for ever. Belicheck was Eric Mangini before Brady fell in his lap. The one year Brady got hurt the Pats went through a GARBAGE schedule, lost to every half decent team they played, went 11-5 and missed the playoffs.

If Brady goes, if you think Belicheck is going to pull Brad Hoyer or Matt Cassel or Kevin O'Connell out of his *** and win the AFC East every year your nuts. When we had Dan and Buffalo had Jim Kelly the Pats were nowhere. Now they have Brady and we are nowhere. It won't last forever.

All we need is a QB and a special teams. You guys act like we went 1-15 again.

For the next 2-3 years, we'll likely be playing for 2nd. That said, if we hire the right man, we can get into the playoffs and do damage - probably not next year, but perhaps the year after. Once your in the playoffs, and if you're playing good solid ball, you have a real shot.

as long as rex and Sanchez are in the division you are playing for 3rd:D

You can't think that way, a year ago NE won the div but we amde the title game and they were out in the WC round. Brady gives NE a HUGE edge over any team but it doesn't guarantee anything.

as long as sparano and ireland are here we will be fighting for forth place because even if there is only 4 teams in each division we can play ourselfs and still come in last.

Get to the dance, that is what matters. It doesn't necessarily have to be us knocking out New England, some other team could do us that favor. Once you are in the playoffs, anything can happen. With New England it starts and ends with Tom Brady, he's a legit HOF QB. Until we find the franchise QB, we are never going to be able to compete, no matter how complete the rest of the roster is.

Tom Brady. Ben Roethlisberger. Peyton Manning. Matt Cassel. Joe Flacco. Mark Sanchez.
Matt Ryan. Jay Cutler. Michael Vick. Matt Hasselbeck/Charlie Whitehurst. Drew Brees. Aaron Rodgers.

Notice the common denominator. Only 2 of those QB situations are dicey, in KC and SEA, and the Seahawks are in the playoffs with 7 wins. Both the Giants and Bucs have legit QB's as well. Then notice the common denominator among all the teams picking in the top 10, horrible to subpar QB play. We must find that franchise QB, no matter the cost. For all the bashing that can be done about Sparano and this offensive approach, Henne is clearly not that kind of QB, and if they had that kind of QB, even the most ardent Sparano bashers would have a hard time arguing that we would not have won 10-11 games.

I think we are fooling ourselves if we believe that we can go from 7-9 to SB Champs overnight. We need to face the reality, that we're just not that good. I think next year is Henne's last chance...we see Sanchez making progress...Henne not so much, plus he has an extra year in the league.

We need to make a change at the top, which will hopefully bring in a competent OC...that is our jumping off point

I agree. BUT, I think you need to give Henne a chance to thrive with an OC that can build an offense that plays to Henne's strengths (altho some may argue if he has any).

Get him a new OC next year and see what happens. IF he $hits the bed and we can't go above .500, time to look elsewhere.
