[FONT=Arial, 'MS Trebuchet', sans-serif]With miami looking to go more towards a hybrid defense, and with the current roster and off-season moves, do you see miami trading Karlos Dansby for a 2nd round pick?

Lets take a look! Miami has moved koa misi to inside linebacker, miami has brought in ernie sims after signing gary guyton. They gave Kevin Burnett a hefty contract and Kevin is more than suitable to fill Dansbys role. Actually, Kevin Burnett played out of place last season.

Karlos Dansby costs us alot of money and it looks like we are planning on moving on without him. They say we are trying to rebuild, and im starting to agree. Miami could draft Kuechly, or trade down and load up on draft picks. Trade Dansby for a 2nd to the texans have a total of 4 picks in the first 2 rounds. Dont be suprised if it happens

texans, giants, kansas city chiefs, arizona cardinals? 3 playoff teams trying to get over the edge and need ilb help. Dont tell me the texans (3-4 defense) isnt looking for an upgrade of 5'11 ilb sharpton. Giants were 29th vs pass last year and have no depth at inside linebacker. Giants showed interest 3 years ago, and dansby eventually chose miami instead. These teams arent rebuilding. These are all teams that could be looking to make a run.

no and we have been running a hybrid d for the last two years

Why is it that people always want to trade away good players? Jake Long, Karlos Dansby, Cameron Wake....heck, this isn't going to work. If you have a quality player you keep him.

no where did i say i want Dansby gone. I'm just bringing to the surface the recent actions of the miami dolphins and how it can lead to a chain reaction of events. This is nothing but observation and unbiased logic based on events. If it happens then I'm lucky and if not then it just fades into the wind. I'm just saying that with the foundation that Miami has tried to implement that it COULD indicate its not out of the realm that this could manifest.

People, This is a Strong Draft, and Miami's front seven (other than pass rusher opposite cam wake) is an extremely strong point. We have a new Reign of command and Ireland might be REBUILDING the landscape that Parcels set in place for TONY SPARANO. This is Joe Philbins team now!

Plus, Kevin Burnett serves the same role as Karlos Dansby- A play-making Inside linebacker that can cover, blitz, and read opposing offenses. In no way is he better than Dansby but, like the week 17 new york jets game showed, this defense didn't take a big loss with Dansby out of the lineup. So, miami has the luxury to maybe trade a player, that might not make a huge difference, for solid compensation that could in-turn make this team better NOW and in the distant future..

You're talking about replacing Dansby with Misi, Sims and Guyton?

Are you serious with this???????

Two of those guys will be very very very lucky to make the team!

I hope you are right, but are you going to give the Texans the crack that they are going to have to smoke to be willing to give the Dolphins a second round pick for Dansby?

Im wonderin about wake. that dude just has a talk and comes back to workouts all a sudden.

dansby is the player above all others that has us in the mess we are in. Overpaid and not earning what he makes on the field. Move him by any means necessary and free up cap for Tannehill and the other draftees.

We are eating up enough dead cap space at the moment, we don't need to add anymore. Dansby is the heart/brains of this defense, and a leader. You don't get rid of your good players - that's not how a team gets better. Is he overpaid? Absolutely. But we cannot continue to get rid of talent - Dansby will not be on the trading block. We also don't need to free up cap space to sign our draftees, we're fine from that standpoint.

A better option would be renegotiate their contract...
