We come out of the gate in free agency aggressive in the first couple days and now it seems like we're sitting and waiting for some reason. I'd like to know who we're bringing in for workouts? We have not heard very much. Does anyone know who we've met with lately?

We obviously landed our primary targets. If the value isn't there for anyone remaining. ... then you pass. We were very active last year. ..... where did that get us? 4 promising FA signings and securing 2 existing players. ..masterful.

Bargain hunting time, they got their big guys out of the gate, now you wait for the good deals. Remember it wasn't until the third week of free agency until they signed Brent Grimes last year. Draft is the main thing left, but they will likely still plug some holes with veterans.

If Ireland was still the GM and we had a OL with two starters going into the draft he would get lynched. I have to hope we are certainly not through signing players. No way we are going to get 3 starters in the draft for the OL, that just isn't going to happen, so yes we are still in the market of bringing players in. Otherwise this free agency period can be looked at as nothing more than a complete disaster.

Lets hope so. Can't imagine going into the season with the OL players we now have on the roster.

Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post writes the Dolphins' free-agent options are dwindling.
Morning take: The first week of free agency usually is the busiest. The Dolphins made the immediate moves they felt necessary. Now it's time to bargain hunt.

Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports the Dolphins are in no rush to sign offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie.
Morning take: McKinnie says he will play on the left or right side in an effort to gain interest. That probably won't come from Miami unless other options in the draft and free agency don't pan out.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. discusses draft options for the Dolphins.
Morning take: It still looks like the offensive line for Miami. A guard and right tackle spot are wide open. A first-round pick could fill that void.

Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel wonders if Dolphins tailback Lamar Miller can be elite.
Morning take: Elite? That's a strong word and it's doubtful Miller will get to that level. But he's young and still has room to grow

We currently have three projected starters on the line and I am sure they are going to give Dallas Thomas a chance to compete for the other guard position. People keep writing off the 2013 draft as not being to help in the future, but I am expecting guys like Jordan, Taylor and Thomas to take steps forward this season. They were rookies last season, and no they didn't contribute much, but they still have talent and are definitely in the conversation.

My guess is that we will sign another veteran guard at some point to compete with Thomas and that our RT will come in the draft. There is going to be a rookie starting on the offensive line, and that is fine with me.

we will probably pick up another FA OL but history shows that spending $ in FA doesn't always pay off. As far as our OL... give Dallas Thomas a chance. Also, it doesn't matter if all holes aren't completely filled as long as we can have strength in other areas. .....I.e. if our CBs are weak or lack depth it won't be as big of a deal if we have a consistent pass rush.

We were pretty much typing the same sentiment at the exact same time.

don't forget there will be players available after June 1st cuts

We presently have 3 o-line starters penciled in with Brenner,Thomas and Garner options for other guard so we are only 1 man shy of filling out line from draft. Not to mention T Ryan Harris formerly of Texans able to provide depth and posssibly being short term stop gap. G Wade Smith would come cheap for 1yearalso this draft is deep at the tackle position and right side starter could potentially be found in 3rd rd and later rd picks that maybe need a year of seasoning ie: Billy Turner or James Hurst.Dont panic yet its all how you view the glass half empty or half full

With all due respect, we practiced a similar, yet not intentional, philosophy last year. We built a strength in our WRs that should have slowed down the pass rush. 58 sacks later, neglecting the OLine with a 1st round luxury pick and value shopping for OLine after the draft seemed like an obvious mistake.

Two years in a row of getting cute with addressing the OLine is not how you extend Tannehill's NFL life.

The QB is the Franchise. Protecting him is Job #1.

With the flexibility we possess in Pouncey, it would be unwise for us to not consider making an offer for Mack. The sheer versatility we would have with Mack, Pouncey and Brenner could allow us to cover many bases in one move. Not to mention the overall talent of the line would jump leaps and bounds and give us time to draft a couple of OLine and develop them for the future.

Bolster the starters with experience, draft and develop talent behind them and make the OLine problems a distant memory. It's time to put this problem to rest. We've done a great job with hiring coaches. But we need an immediate infusion of starting talent to protect the development of draft picks.

And I believe a FA C is about the cheapest position on the OLine. Signing an All Pro C and kicking another potential All Pro to G is how we practice addition by addition.

I understand your philosophy, but NOT correctly applying this philosophy last year puts us in a situation where an unconventional approach is warranted. Replacing 4 starters in any single unit is a task NO Coach plans. When it happens, it's all hands on deck.

We need to get as many o-linemen in here as we can for more competition. We had better not see a leaky o-line again in 2014 or heads will roll.

If you look around the league, no one is signing anyone of significance right now. What is left on the market are people deemed not upgrades, or have set their price expectations way too high.
