Again?

Not a rant post, really a general question, are we rebuilding....Again?

We are not playoff caliber, we can barely even play 50/50 ball so what are we?

Are we stuck in some blackhole?

Yes. This team is worst than last year as of right now. They are going to rebuild through the draft.

It's the worst of both worlds. We should be rebuilding, but the owner and GM are too dense to realize it.

does anyone think there is a possibility of us releasing karlos dansby? he has under-performed in relation to the money he will be making this year. plus there have been reports of koa misi being moved inside....thoughts?

I think were middle of the road, we still have a top 5 defense and got stronger by adding richard marshall and resigning soliai but we still need to add a passrusher, so for the most part are defense is fine, but as of right now our offense is in rebuilding mode, we need a QB, a WR, a RT, RG, so hopefully we will address that in the draft, but as of right now I cant see this team winning more than 6 games, but I hope I'm wrong.

Switching defenses, while still having no pass rush and having a worse offense than last year without a #1 WR, or a real #2 honestly.

Middle of the road? no

free agency is non existent . dont see much left on the market to fill our holes.

we just cut bell and sean smith is rumored to be on the trading block. 9 of the 16 games we have next year feature teams within the top 16 of points per game.

QB - dont see an upgrade this year

so we have the draft. if we fill our holes in the draft, we will have a lot of rookies getting a lot of playing time.

nothing wrong with having a very young team, bodes well for many years to come but it wont result in a successful season next year.

i would call it a hybrid rebuild. we will be a poor team next year but beyond that i can foresee a very successful team blossoming into a championship contender
*(if we have a great draft)

I fully believe we are... Partially. I think they are going to move a couple of minor pieces around on Defense. The Offense on the other hand... I think it is a complete retool. I started to wonder this when the traded Marshall combined with what Philbin said in his press conferences (i.e. building through the draft). Also, look at how many coaches we have on the offensive side of the ball. I also think the contracts of Dansby and Long are the last of the "heavy" cap salaries left on the roster that have not been addressed. It will be interesting to see what they do with the other "above average" salaries like Fasano and a couple of others. The just got through dealing with Bell.

I don't think we are stuck in a black hole, however we are feeling the effects of some 2nd rounders not working out like we would want them. I still remember when all the media and mags were high on Henne. I figured once Henne took a nose dive, it would get rough. I would also point out that Parcells took off conveniently after Henne was figured to be a bust. Sorry for rambling...

i know there has been an emphasis on drafting a pass rushing lb, but should we consider a run stopping 3-4 DE since we lost langford to the rams?

were not switching defenses, were staying at a base 3-4 and will be a hybrid just like llast year, we would not have resigned big paul

Wasn't sure if that was a definite...but it will not be a better without Bell and most likely Sean Smith. And with a lot more playing time on the field every game, don't expect a top 5 def..

I think we as fans make more out of that than most coaches do.

but it will not be a better without Bell

Bell was good and stuffing the run but graded very poorly in pass coverage, I think jones can hold down SS, and richard marshall will be a very good FS, I dont see our defense taking a step back at all, but we better find a passrusher!

you gotta wonder how the locker room is taking this news. there were some mixed emotions about brandon marshall being traded, but i doubt this news will be received the same
