Are We Rebuilding?

Bell was good and stuffing the run but graded very poorly in pass coverage, I think jones can hold down SS, and richard marshall will be a very good FS, I dont see our defense taking a step back at all, but we better find a passrusher!

A passrusher and offense, one that doesnt hurt our defense.

I don't think we are rebuilding b/c...

Offense:
How many key losses on offense in FA? Only 1, but that is arguable if it was a negative or positive (BMarshall).

Defense:
How many key losses on offense in FA? Only 2 (Bell and Langford), yet both positions need better production anyway.

Overview:
Merely adding more youth through the draft versus overpaying in patchwork FA signings.

IMHO

We arent rebuilding. We have been being demolished for 13 years now.

There were plans to rebuild a few years ago, but instead of going with the plans the master architect laid out and drafting Matt Ryan, everyones hero Bill Parcells decided to just lay a big ****ing concrete slab out there named Jake Long and turn the land into a place where ****ing bums rest.

Rebuilding in my opinion is completely revamping the team. With the exception of Bell and Langford, the defense remains intact. The offense so far is exactly the same, with the exception of Marshall being traded. This is not rebuilding, thought it doesn't appear to be reloading either. More like they are stuck in the mud right now and not sure what to do.

I don't know what the hell we are doing now. However, one thing I know for sure is:

WE WILL SUCK UNTIL WE GET A LEGITIMATE QB.

All else won't matter until that happens.

Which is what 6-10, 8-8 records will get you. Ireland and the playoff year was the worst thing that happened to this franchize.
1.Ireland sucks and doesn't value QB's
2.Never had a true chance to load up properly, false hope after the freak Playoff year with Penny

our strategy is to sneak up on the league with 2 rookie wide receivers, maybe 3

Not rebuilding but if we get that pass rusher and a good WR and RT then we will be better then last year. Not sure we will make the playoffs. that will depend on whether QB play imporves. That will need to improve to make a wildcard. Of course we also need to get a starting caliber qB for the year after.

No we wont without a QB.

We make minor alterations to the roster while maintaining the bottom line of few impact players and overpaid as a whole. I wouldn't call it rebuilding as much as Jeff Ireland's caliber, like the moron in the next cubicle.

Today the Patriots and Jets signed former premium picks who had fallen out of favor with their organization. That's the right idea, the one Ireland stumbled upon last season with Reggie Bush, despite assertions here and elsewhere that Bush didn't have special skills and was little more than Lorenzo Booker.

I knew it was a fluke, and that we'd go back to signing gems like Artis Hicks and Richard Marshall. Those are the types who you want to rationalize as decent, far better than they are. Grab info off the internet and spin it more positively than it deserves. Then the season starts and guess what, they turn out to be Artis Hicks and Richard Marshall, obscure and expendable for good reason.

I post on plenty of golf sites. There's a derisive term called PGA Tour Poser. You know the type, the ones who believe all the hype toward latest and greatest clubs and spend $500 on a white driver. They throw grass in the air, take painful number of practice swings, and have their glove folded neatly in their back right pocket. Then they step to the tee and offer a remarkable arsenal of skulls, slices, tops, and idiot marks.

That's Jeff Ireland as a general manager. He's allowed to put on a suit and grab his briefcase every day and play general manager, shanking every decision. Among 32 teams you'll have some of those and it's simply our turn, no different than the trainer who wins the Derby one year then spends the next decade entering plodders who have no business in the starting gate.

BTW, people bet on those plodders. The win pool is never zero. That's like Jeff Ireland's apologists.

The word "rebuilding" better not leave Ireland's mouth; the belief was Sparano wasn't getting all he could from the talent on the team. If they say they are going to rebuild it's a total contradiction to why Ireland kept his job. Ireland kept his job because Ross believed the team has talent, if were rebuilding four months later after this all went down than this team is officially a joke.
