Are you ready to give Tannehill a Cutler type deal?

NO...Tannehill is an average QB. You have to play outside of a 20 yard box and he doesn't. I don't care what his numbers say.

Like it or not the Dolphins will give him the 5th year option and negotiate a long term deal and they should.

No. Finish out the season strong then pick up the 5th year option and make him prove next year his worth with continued consistent play.

If that's the going rate for a starting QB and with the cap going up because of the tv deal, my vote is yes.....why start all over at QB when this team is real close to contending....he has proven over the 3 yrs that he has gotten better and I expect that to continue.....he still have plenty of work to do but he is close, real close to be good enough to help a team win a SB.....

YES

I just looked at the numbers, 126 million with 38 guaranteed is perfect.....if he accepts that its a steal

Yes. He deserves to be paid. Not top 5 money, but a big deal to keep him here for 4-5 years. We have a good QB who keeps getting better. If we try to go in a different direction, chances are we'll end up like the last 15 years or with someone like RG3. Unless Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck really wants to be a Dolphin, pay Tannehill.

it will be 5 years 100 million or so with an out after 2 years

This option can cost us more in the long run, I have seen enough that this kid is the future of this franchise, Pay him and move on to fixing the LB and getting depth at the CB position......

It might be more cost effective in the long run to give him a longterm deal now while he is still establishing himself. It could be costly if he really breaks out next season.

Of course you always run the risk of a letdown with something like this, but at this point I think it's worth the risk. He has a good attitude, I don't think money will change him.

Give him a team friendly deal like the niners gave Kaep.

Why worry about that right now? Having teaching our defense how to tackle?

Our Defense has been stellar all season, yesterday they had a bad game, I expect them to bounce back with a great effort next week.....that was a pretty good offense they faced yesterday, lets not forget that

Yes why worry about a position that we have chased for 15 years. Why bother locking him up then focusing on strengthing the team around him?

Look big picture.

I'd rather have Tannehill than Cutler RIGHT NOW. If RT had big physical receivers like Marshall and Jeffries, I guarantee you we wouldn't be seeing these "issues" with the deep ball. At this point, Tannehill is hands down THE BEST QB we've had since Marino and has not come close to his ceiling. I think he needs to be paid top 10 QB money.

I agree they absolutely will and should, but until he can prove he can play outside of a 20 yard box he does not deserve elite money. Not saying Cutler deserved that contract either.
