Well the guy has played 16 games over the past 2 years and registered 1 sack. Not very productive.

Is he suprised that nobody wants to give him and 7 year deal? The guy hasnt done anything for the past 2 years besides get hurt and cause problems. He should sign a 1 year deal and have a big year, then he will get his money.

This reeks of a guy that is scared he is never going to have value again because of lack of production/injuries.

I would love to have him on the squad, but not for anything near what he is asking. I would offer him a 3 year deal max with lots of incentives. If you sign him to a 6-7 year deal and he has a couple good years, you bet your *** he is going to ***** about a new deal.

Boomer told me we're looking at signing him to a 2 yr deal so he can still get another big payday down the line.

everyone feels the way you do.......

thats why no team is stupid enough to sign him already until his asking price gets more reasonable........
I can honestly see him not signing onto a team until right before the draft.. maybe even after..

I think he will get the big contract.. just the simple fact that peterson and him has the same agent and lavar wants the same contract peterson got from the seahawks...but i argee in a way.. i wouldnt give him or peterson big deals.

And everyone should remember that Joe Gibbs benched LaVar and never really gave a reason why.

Hopefully Lavar comes to grips with reality, and accepts the fact that he won't get a Peterson type deal. I would be very pleased if we got him. ONLY IF he plays his role, and with disciplin. We all know Saban is one of the few coaches in the NFL who can do that.

Our chances will be excellent once he accepts reality. We all know from our FinHeaven news crew that we are his first choice.

I don't know whats taking so long.?

Everyone wants a deal done now, but time works in our favor on this one. The longer he goes with nobody ponying up big bucks, the better chance we have of getting him. We'll be competitive on money, and we have all the intangibles (S. Fla lifestyle, great coach and owner and front office, team headed towards success). Let him sweat with no offers.

I disgree, just because a player wants the big money and shares an agent with someone who got big money doesn't mean he's set to get it, he has to prove that he can perform at his previous level before he can command such a high fee. Most people believe Peterson was well overpaid and that Seattle were one of a few teams in a position to offer such a contract. I could see him signing a 6 or 7 year deal for $40million thereabouts or a 1 or 2 year deal at $6million per year, simply because he has in the last 2 years not been particularly durable, has underperformed and is criticized for free-lancing to much. There are plenty interested teams out there, but none seem prepared to give him what he feels he's worth.

Lavar

He'll be a fin, it's just a matter of them working to meet at both ends. I have confidence it'll get done.

I think Greg Williams and Gibbs both mentioned inconsistent play as the reason. Something like he makes a couple big plays then blows a couple because of missed assignments. They were looking for better consistency.

Tony Boselli (best friends with Mark Brunell) was on the radio the other day and said that the Jags should stay away from Arrington...that he is a freelancer and never has played in any defensive scheme that Washington has run. He has talent, but goes on pure instincts and sometimes leaves his responsibilty and gives up the big play.

He is the epitome of that "leon" guy from the commercials.

Joe Gibbs benched Lavar because the didn't always follow his assignments. He thought he could just freelance around and make his own plays. Lavar at this time is NOT very disciplined.

Arrington best fits in a 3-4 scheme where he can rush the passer. He is not a 4-3 LB.

The Dolphins are by far the best fit for him.
