Article: About time to label Thomas the greatest

Maybe being the greatest passer in nfl history had something to with that........ Zach is nowhere near to middle linebackers as what Marino is to Qb's..................

Please show me where I said he was. Someone brought up Superbowls and the HOF. I pointed out there are players, like Marino, in the HOF even though they don't have a ring.

See, I am in the camp of pro Thomas. People always say he only succeeds due to the big tackles in front of him sucking up blockers, however, he has been all around the ball this preseason in a brand new scheme and I think he is going to surprise some people about how well he does. He is durable, sure tackler and a leader of this defense.

People don't realize how good he really is. I challenge you to look at tape and find someone who has a better nose for the football on defense. Sometimes, I think he huddles with the offense because he is moving to the whole before the ball is handed off. He is tremendous at reocgnizing how plays develop and where they are going to go with it. He has a motor that doesn't quit and oh yeah, he does pretty good in coverage as well.

He will be blitzing more this year and I bet he is going to have a career year in sacks ( not too hard to do ) and should rack up his similar numbers in tackles. Personally, I think he has a shot at the HOF if he keeps up this level for a few more years.

Superbowl is a team accomplishment.

Yes, however Nick would not have made the Hall of fame had it not been for his great Dolphin years, and the fact remains most Hall of Fame voters would tell you Zach is a severe longshot..........I love Zach, but for now the greatest Dolphin linebacker is the only one in Pro Footballs hall of fame.

I'd have to disagree there Phantom, look at the stats and tell me anyone that has been as consistent as Zach the last NINE seasons, including Ray Lewis or Jamie Sharper or Brian Urlacher or anyone else...

A couple more career TD's will also plead for HOF whether he has a title or not...

If Zach isn't already ahead of Nick, he will be soon. That said, who are the other candidates? John Opherdahl (Sp?), Brian Cox, A.J. Duhe? Zach is better than those thre for sure, as good as they were.

Zach is an amazing player no matter what, but when you take his size into the issue, it's really beyond belief! For those of you who haven't seen Zach up close (I have, as a reporter), the dude is very average in size to normal human beings, and a midget by NFL standards. The fact that he has played nine years w/ no major injuries and is consistent as ever is just mind blowing! Nobody really talks about his size anymore, and the reason is he just flat out makes playes, making people forget he is so small!
