According to the Palm Beach Post, Kris Dielman's agent said that his client probably won't end up in Miami. The article cites the large contracts signed around the league and Miami's likely inability to afford a similar deal.

The article also mentions that Miami has spoken to the agent for LB Tully Banta-Cain. I live in New England, so I see every Pats game, and if the team is looking for a linebacker who can rush the QB, Banta-Cain would be a good choice. He's nothing more than average in run-support, but with the additional playing time he saw last year, he showed his ability to pressure the passer.

We wait too long every free agency. Bills sign 2 OL, Dolphins 0 :nono:

Players are coming off the board and we have none signed.

We cut more players than signed, geesh un real. Come on Randy and Cam get rolling, start signing guys. GEESH

I figured Dielman was out of the picture after I saw Dockery's contract. Dockery is a fine player, but when he is getting paid the same as Steve Hutchinson, you know the market has gotten out of control.

the negativity on this forum never ceases to amaze me. Wow, we didn't sign anybody o the first day of FA. The Bills,Pats,Falcons, and 9ers are the only ones that have.

Good lord, you guys overreact. It's hard to believe that so many people that claim to be in their 20's and 30's are so paranoid.

Lack of aggressiveness and - what happened to the idea that we were in "good shape" capwise? Especially after we released several players.

With the way bonuses are amortized over the life of a contract, offering a $12 M deal to Dielman seems not that far out of reach - though it may be overpaying for him.

We are pathetic in many ways. If we don't make some major hits in free agency - this team is going to struggle, b/c we've likely lost a 5th rounder due to the PT that Saban gave to Harrington.

Imo, we could have afforded Dielman and Porter if we wanted to. And then go after a couple of lower tier guys.

Well seeing on how, alot of teams today signed some very good players.

It's a trend here in Miami, not to get started out of the gate, and yes it is frustrating as hell.

Wow! Wayne Huizenga is just like Nick Saban!!! He is the world's second biggest LIAR!!!!!

CHEAPO!!!! Mr Scrooge!!! Pathetic!!!!

note how the article says the agent thinks we might have fallen out. The agents don't follow the cap numbers.

but again, why is it so critical for us to get Dielman? Do I want him?sure. But we don't need him. I swear so many of you guys don't understand the how FA works. one question... HOW ARE WE PATHETIC IF WE DON'T EVEN MEET WITH THE PLAYERS OR AGENTS TO DISCUSS POTENTIAL DEALS?!? If they sign the first day with someone else, that is not the front offices fault.

And the Bills payed TOO much. rather be smart and get good, young players that will contribute, NOT break the bank and leave us screwed if they don't workout.

Yeah, i hope most of you take this year as an indication to learn the value of a dollar. You can't sign big name free agents without big time cap space.

While frustrating, its no reason to turn on the FO already.

With that said, I would make OL a priority in the next day or so, because we released some guys that, while not terrific, were serviceable. I think Randy and Cam felt better about our chances and now may have to overpay to get someone who will be their 2nd choice. Not an ideal situation to say the least. I am guessing Cooper Carlisle will be the target, and its a nice fallback option. Hes athletic and has started for two years. Plus, wont get nearly the contract that Dockery, Steinbach and Dielman will.

So, we must move on.

That is the other frustrating factor, the price tag on these guys.

That Nate Clements deal is ridiculous!!! $80 million :nono:
