Article on Mike replacing Mike as our HC

It's hard to say with Ross. Anyone who is really paying attention most likely views this as a transition year. Does he? Is Ross expecting a super bowl run?

Sure, Miami could rebound and make the playoffs if Grier has hit after hit in the draft. Would a 6 win year mean dramatic changes?
It is hard to say.

6 wins? I would say Grier doesn't survive.

What about 10 wins, though?

I see many predictions of 3-5 wins, but think that type of drop off is highly unlikely. Assuming relatively good QB health, our offense will still put up points against average defenses and may be the best version of a complete offense of the McD era.

I just saw the article and thought I'd share. For all of you saying no to him...let's say we have a shitty season, and Grier and McDaniel get fired, and whomever our new GM is has only McCarthy and some coordinators who have never been a HC at any level to choose from to be our next HC...Are you guys still going to say no to McCarthy and yes to another 1st time HC? Because that could very well happen.

Don't think 10 wins is realistic. It's more like 5-8 range. Does Grier survive with 8 wins, is the question?

Well, we simply disagree about what is realistic. I'm fairly confident our offense will, overall, be better than last year. Again, assuming Tua is relatively healthy and doesn't miss a bunch of games. I have bigger concerns with the defense.

Does Grier survive an 8 win season? I didn't want him to survive last year. I would say no. There's already widespread fan support for change there. At some point a status quo approach should result in enough pressure to effect change. JMO, though. For all I know, Ross is insulated from public opinion, or perhaps really just doesn't care.

As we've discussed before, win or lose, it doesn't affect his wallet nearly as much as some want to believe, at least in the short term. Does being portrayed as a $hitshow of a franchise affect him phycologically? No idea, but it would pi$$ me off.

I don't see 10 wins being realistic for a multitude of reasons.

No Armstead is a big one, we won't have the leagues easiest schedule again, we also may not have Tyreek and even if we do, hes prbabaly even slower than he was last year so his impact on the game diminishes even further. Tuas currently out of shape and lord knows he won't be healthy when the end of the year comes around.

10 wins is only possible if Zach Wilson breaks out and finally puts his athleticism to work and develops reading the field. So I guess it's possible.... still not very realistic.

I’d imagine this was talked about in depth with Ross on his expectations and plans. It appears Grier is pretty close with Ross given his very lose leash and the fact Grier won the battle vs Flores as well as the whole tanking plan.

I think it went a lot deeper than just Flores v Grier.

He wanted to call all the shots and acted like a child when he didn't get his way. Truth is, he didn't have the credentials or resume to have that much say.

McCarthy is a fair to good coach, but this is not a good roster for him-or anyone really.

McCarthy is a good HC.

His offense and him calling plays outscored Miami in 2023. We only led league in yards but top offense actually went to Dallas.
