DAVIE -- Wes Welker won't need any extra motivation when playing against the Chargers on Sunday.

The Dolphins wide receiver/returner will face his former team for the first time since being cut by them last season.

"I want to have a good game," said Welker, who has flourished since being signed by the Dolphins last season. "But that goes for every week. I'm treating it like every other game."

I hope he and Ronnie have great games. Ronnie gets to go up next to LaDainian Tomlinson, a guy he compares favorably to, and Welker gets to rub it into his former team.

Welker has six catches of 20-plus yards and his statistics (26 catches for 395 yards) are comparable to No. 2 receiver Marty Booker's (24-407) despite playing fewer snaps.

Wow. Didn't know that. Wes is so damn awesome.

Thanks...good read. I like having Wes on this team a lot.

Wes Welker returns a punt for a TD this week.

That's a great article, and I too am happy that Wes plays for us.

It would be sweet if he had a huge day in the return and rec games. best of luck to him.:D

Coach Nick Saban said earlier this season that the 5-foot-9, 185-pound Welker is, "pound for pound, probably, as good as a competitor as I have ever been around."

we have coach suess

read the last line it rhymes lol

Too funny!

I would rather Welker caught for 100 yards this week like he did in Week 6 against the Bucs.

That would REALLY be rubbing it in their faces, because they got rid of him thinking he'd never be a great receiver and they could find a return man elsewhere.

Didn't the Chargers have a bunch of depth at their receiver and punt/kickoff return positions when Wes was there? I am sure it was just a numbers game.
I am happy we got Wes though....he comes to play every game and gives it his all. We could use some more guys like him.
