At least we have a good nucleus of young and older players who give us effort. And we have a good core inside our organization, and not a madman at the helm whom no one wants to work for, (ala Al Davis). That said, we need some major help in a big way, and need a lot of luck and good fortune for a change. Please God, help us, please......

But at least were not the Raiders!! Thank God for that!! Whew......

or browns fans..... they have nobody on that team that i would want here....

How very true. God knows whats gonna happen with the Raiders thiscoming year. And there is another team where managment always screws with the personal, the Lions. Matt Millen, while not a owner, is just as bad as Davis.

Your right, how in the h*** have they not got rid of that bum by now!! He is single handedly destroying that franchise more and more every day.

Well you can knock on the raiders all you want but they have been to a superbowl recently and should of won 2 superbowl if it wasnt for bull**** tuck rule and al trading gruden. I have personal reason why I dont like them but they have been more successful then us recently.

True, I agree with you there. And i know we arent headed to the top right now ourselves, but.........they are headed further and further in the toilet.

Just saying that at least were not sucking the scum off the ocean bottom just yet!!! Just trying to add a bright spot to our gloomy skiew as of late, just so happens to come at the expense of the raiders.

The word on Sirius NFL radio today was that James Lofton is the front-runner for HC position at the Raiders. I think he is the receiver coach in San Diego. Not that Lofton isn't a quality coach, but to think that he is the only guy in the running is scary. Says a lot about how no one wants to go there and deal with Davis.

the Devil never dies!!

anyways if they fixed the Oline and get an Offense to go along with their Defense(#1 Pass D) they'll be good or atleast alot better than now

They are also looking at Josh McDaniels of the Pats, who is the one that I hope we are waiting to be able to interview. Go Colts! (For once.)

-- Raiders Eyeing McDaniels --

Wed Jan 17, 2007 --from FFMastermind.com

NFL.com's Adam Schefter reports the Oakland Raiders are eyeing Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, who has the distinction of becoming the youngest offensive coordinator in NFL history. McDaniels was 29 when he accepted the coordinator position Charlie Weis vacated for Notre Dame. Since last season, the Patriots have fed McDaniels a steady diet of expanding offensive responsibilities. But McDaniels might have saved his best work for the divisional round, when he showed the Raiders he could help pick up every Chargers blitz. This made him all the more attractive to Raiders owner Al Davis. Plus there's this: Whereas the Patriots reduced the responsibilities of former DC Eric Mangini last season, they have increased McDaniels'. The problem is the Raiders cannot interview McDaniels until the Patriots' season ends, which might not be until Feb. 4.

They had a few others, I think a coach from USC (Sarskian or something) and their own DC.

Say what you will about the Raiders, but their D is pretty good and young, singlehandedly kept the Raiders in games this year. I'm not predicting the Raiders will be good ... but they aren't detroit. Imagine this, if they get a QB (draft/FA) shore up their O-line just one bit, and get Moss and/or Porter happy again (shouldn't be too hard with Shell out of there) they can be this years NO Saint's.

Not saying it is likely, but possible. Anyways Moss reiterated he want's out of the Raiders, but nobody is clamoring for Porter so he could be motivated again.

Yeah, it's shouldn't be hard to fix half a team (although Miami has historically had problems with this) since the Raiders have a strong defense.
